For those unaware, she was a pioneering Black Entertainment Television (BET) personality and popular radio host. According to reports, Angela was 58 years old when she took her last breath. Ed Gordon, a journalist who had worked with BET for over four decades, was the first one to announce the news of Angela’s death via a Facebook post on Sunday, September 27, 2026 (ET). Amid this, many are revisiting Angela’s social media platforms as they remember her.
Angela Stribling’s anniversary post surfaces amid her death
Being a public figure and a well-known radio host, Angela Stribling had a considerable following on social media. A quick look at her Instagram profile reveals that she had 21.6k followers on the platform. She also appeared to be pretty active there, as she had just under 2,000 posts.
On her profile, Angela shared several glimpses of her life, including her selfies, pictures of her cat Jasper, and even photos with her friends, family, and colleagues. However, one post that is now grabbing attention after her death is her wedding anniversary post. Notably, even though Angela used to post a lot on Instagram, she rarely shared pictures of or with her husband.
The anniversary post in question was made on August 15, 2025, a year before Angela’s death. In the picture, Angela can be seen posing with her husband, Ken Washington, in a long hallway. Her husband grabbed her waist from behind while he tilted his head down to land a kiss on her shoulder. Angela looked beautiful in a low-cut, fish-tail white wedding dress. Meanwhile, her husband wore a white suit, shirt, and trousers.
On top of the picture, Angela wrote, “Happy Anniversary my love,” followed by a heart emoji. She added a similar caption to the post, writing, “Happy Anniversary Babe!” followed by heart and crown emojis. Many of Angela Stribling’s fans took to the comments section to wish the couple on the special occasion.
Angela Stribling dies at 58
BET journalist Ed Gordon announced the news of Angela Stribling's death in a Facebook post on September 27, 2026. In the post, he recalled how they worked together and became friends during their years at the network. It was really sad for him to hear about her passing, as the two had remained friends even after they both moved on to pursue different opportunities. Recalling his last conversation with her, Ed wrote:
“During our last conversation, she told me that she and her husband would be spending more time in D.C. after being out west for a number of years. My prayers and best go out to him and her other loved ones. She was a sweet soul. RIP.”
While Ed did not reveal Angela Stribling's cause of death and the exact date that she died, WHUR 96.3 FM, where the late broadcaster previously worked, revealed that her husband, Ken Washington, had released a statement a while ago. In the statement, Ken said that Angela passed away on September 26, 2026, after a two-year battle with brain cancer. He said:
“It is with a broken heart that I share that my beloved wife, Angela Marie Stribling, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 26, after a courageous two-year battle with brain cancer. Her sister Darlene and I were by her side.”
Ken also revealed that a celebration of life will be organized for Angela Stribling in Washington, D.C. A date and venue for the same will be announced later.
