Radha Files Complaint Against Sister Ambika, Brother, Accuses Them Of Rs. 50 Crore Cheque Fraud

Arjun Nair. She even went as far as to file a police complaint against them, stating that the siblings had conspired to steal and forge invalid cheques to defraud her of nearly Rs. 50 crore.
Radha accuses her sister and brother of ‘trespassing’ and cheque fraud
According to the petition that Radha submitted to the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner, she claimed that on September 17, 2026, she suddenly received an email alert from IDBI Bank’s Porur branch. Thanks to the alert, Radha found out that five high-value cheques had been presented for encashment in her sister, Ambika Nair’s name. The cheques in question were written for Rs. 11 lakh, Rs. 13.17 crore, Rs. 27.73 crore, Rs. 7 crore, and Rs. 1.79 crore.
The veteran actress immediately instructed her bank to stop the payments as she never wrote those cheques to Ambika. Additionally, there was also no financial arrangement between them that would require Radha to pay her sister such huge amounts.
In the complaint, Radha stated that she believes the cheques were filled out by their brother, Mallikarjuna, in his handwriting. The actress alleged that her brother is involved in various financial crimes under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999. This has put him under a lot of pressure to pay a huge penalty ordered by the Madras High Court in a 2025 FEMA case.
Accusing the siblings of “trespassing” into her room, Radha said that they wanted to steal the cheques from there for unlawful financial gain. Reportedly, she was away from Chennai when the incident happened.
The cheques that Ambika and Mallikarjuna stole belonged to a 50-leaf book. It was issued in 2022 for Radha’s business under its fiber name, ARS Garden Studio. When she officially updated the business name to its present name, RR Gardens, she obtained a new cheque book under GST regulations in January 2025. Having stopped using the old cheques, Radha soon forgot all about them, and they remained as scrap in her residence.
Radha claims that her brother and sister are unlawfully obstructing her from entering her property
Radha’s complaint has now raised concerns about access to family property. Before the incident, Radha used to stay on the ground floor of her house in Valasaravakkam. Her sister, Ambika, also resided in the same house and was allowed access to Radha's portion out of trust.
As someone who travels frequently due to her business, Radha said that she would keep five or six blank cheques in her room. These were used to cover regular maintenance and salary payments when she was away. After she found out what her siblings did with the cheques, Radha claimed that she is being unlawfully prevented from entering her property.
This has been going on for about a year and a half. She even accused the brother-sister duo of stopping her from verifying her valuables, which include gold and diamond ornaments as well as her property documents.
Radha is now urging the police to look into her allegations and take criminal action if what she said is established to be true. She is seeking strict criminal action against Ambika and Mallikarjuna under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
