He came in like a wave on the reality show Fame Gurukul, which he won with Rooprekha Banerjee. However, it was one of the reality shows that gave India its singing sensation, Arijit Singh, but he wasn't able to win the show.
Qazi Touqeer revealed if Rooprekha was Arijit Singh's first wife
Qazi Touqeer is currently part of the reality show Bigg Boss 20, and his fever is back among the audience after 21 years. Recently, we stumbled upon an old interview of Qazi, wherein he talked about his best friend, Arijit Singh, and whether Rooprekha Banerjee was his first wife. The buzz about their marriage has been on the internet for a long time.
When Siddharth Kannan mentioned the same, Qazi Touqeer reveaked why he didn't collaborate with Rooprekha. She had won the show with him and was Arijit Singh's first wife. Qazi gave a shocked look and quickly denied it and revealed it was all just rumours. He was quoted as saying:
"Nahi yeh sach nahi hai ye toh sara rumours hai, is par aajata hai Google par. I don't think so. Yeah, yeah, I am sure, ye toh main khud dekh raha hoon social media par."
After this, Siddharth asked him if he had ever talked about the same with Arijit. Qazi said that he doesn't ask about who his first wife was, but Rooprekha wasn't his first wife. He said that they would talk about rain and all. Further, he talked about not collaborating with Rooprekha and said that it was just a concept of the show to win the show as a jodi. Later, he wanted to work as an actor, which he did.
During his stint on the reality show, Bigg Boss 20, Qazi has been winning hearts not just with his personality, charm, and wit, but also with his singing. However, Qazi also admitted on the show that he sings well now, but during his participation on Fame Gurukul, he was the worst singer and would often get scolding from judges due to his singing, despite that he won the show.
Coming back to Qazi's relationship with Arijit, the two have remained friends after their participation in Fame Gurukul. On Bigg Boss 20, Qazi expressed his love for Arijit. He called him his life, and stated that his fighting spirit is crazy, and he does not get tired for 8 hours. He sits down with his sitar, and he forgets the world and time. Qazi said:
"Bro, I'm telling you. That guy is my life. That guy is my life. Uska fighting spirit crazy hai. Woh 8 ghante tak nahi thakta. He sits down with his sitar. Shuru jab kiya usne toh time ka kuch pata nahi chal raha hai. Saat ghanta, chhe ghanta, constant. Usi cheez mein khoya hua hai. I’m passionate about clothes. What does he enjoy? The process. His music."
Earlier, Arijit Singh, who rarely talks about reality show, took to his X account and supported Qazi by sharing a post. He stated that he would have to watch this season of Bigg Boss as his rockstar is there. He wrote:
"I will have to watch BIG BOSS for the first time in my life because Apna Rockstar QAZI hai udhar (Our Qazu is in the house)."
Not just contestants or viewers, but Salman Khan is also crazily in love with Qazi. He appreciated him in the weekend episode. He said:
"There may be many stars in this house, but there's only one rockstar, and that's Qazi Touqeer. All week, you have been walking around going ‘Owww!' Teach me too: ‘I am a rockstar, baby."
