Popular TV actress, Priyanka Shukla opened up about her challenging journey of losing 40 kgs after following a tough fitness regime. However, she also talked about the mental piece which it gave to her!

Popular television actress, Priyanka Shukla is known for her outstanding acting skills and incredible fashion sense. Currently, she plays the role of 'Disha' in the television serial, Mann Sundar. Apart from this, she was seen in many TV shows and movies, including Jodha Akbar, Sankat Mochan Hanuman, Pyaar ke papad, Bhaag Bakool Bhaag, Hara Hara Mahadeva and Pedavi Datani Matokatundhi. In addition, she was also seen in the Hindi film, Bhanwarey. Recently, she opened up about her drastic transformation of losing 40 kgs, and her journey was indeed drool-worthy.

Priyanka Shukla on losing 40 kgs

In an interview with the TOI, Priyanka Shukla opened up about the challenging journey of losing more than 40kgs. She mentioned that the journey was not a bed of roses as she is a big-time foodie. However, as the say goes- 'when there is a will, there is a way', Priyanka also proved the same by following her strict diet and fitness regime. She said:

“To be honest, it required sheer dedication and power to lose 40 kgs. The journey from being chubby to slim was not a cakewalk for me because I am a big-time foodie. I started following a strict diet and exercise regularly without fail."

Priyanka on maintaining a strict diet and performing rigorous exercises

Time and again, we have seen Priyanka posting glimpses of her rigorous gym routine. In the glimpses, she was seen getting proper training for maintaining her physique. In the same conversation, the actress mentioned how she reduced the portions of her food and kept her metabolism rate high. She also revealed discarding gluten from her meals and how she balanced her diet with a fitness routine. She explained:

"I completely stopped the consumption of junk food and all I ate was homemade food. I also reduced the portions of my food but ate everything to keep my metabolism rate high. I ate a variety of fruits and vegetables but was off gluten for a while. Balancing my fitness regime was a tough task, but I did that with complete dedication because mere andar patle hone ki chah thi."

What mental satisfaction did Priyanka get after shedding weight?

At the end of the conversation, Priyanka revealed that after shedding 40kgs of weight, she embraced a new confident approach towards life. She felt proud for pushing herself in order to lose weight. She concluded:

"After my weight loss, I felt much more confident and physically active. I am happy that I was able to push myself and lose weight. Losing weight is a challenging task, but more challenging is maintaining it further. So, even today, I don't forget to follow my diet."

When Priyanka talked about fulfilling her father's dream of acting

In an old interview, Priyanka had revealed how she used to work in an MNC as a software engineer in Bengaluru before becoming an actress. Then, however, taking a big risk in her life, she thought of quitting her job and walked on the path of becoming an actress. She explained that since childhood, she had a passion for acting because her father was also an actor. But due to some health issues, Priyanka's father couldn't fulfil his dreams, and she considered investing in her inner self to become an actress.
