Priyansh Arya reveals the reason behind not following his family’s legacy

Priyansh Arya has been one of the most talked-about names ever since IPL 2026 began. The reason behind the same is his amazing and powerful batting skills. However, after the recent match with Chennai Super Kings, Priyansh Arya opened up about family legacy and revealed why he didn’t follow it. It is worth mentioning that Priyansh’s parents are teachers and he too would have been a teacher. He was quoted as saying:

"My family background is of proper teachers. My sister is also a teacher. Maybe, I would’ve been a teacher too (if not for a cricketer). Ab koi chance nahi hai."

Later, the much-loved and talented cricketer also spoke about his batting skills. When asked about his free-spirited hitting skills, Priyansh Arya stated that this has been his nature since childhood. He explained, "It’s been like this since childhood, and whenever I feel that it will benefit the team, I play like that. There is a little bit of risk-taking involved. I have belief in myself that if I can hit the first ball, then I will hit it."

After one of the IPL matches, Priyansh Aryan’s teammate, Shashank Singh, who also plays for the IPL team, Punjab Kings spoke about the former and stated that he is a very soft-spoken person in his personal life. According to Shashank, Priyansh likes to speak less and let his bat do all the talking for him. Further, he also called Priyansh mentally very strong and someone who knows how to play well. Shashank Singh was quoted as saying:

"With Priyansh what we, as a team, really liked last year is that he’s mentally very tough. I mean he doesn’t speak much but he’s very mentally tough. He knows his role and he knows his areas where he can score runs."

When Priyansh Arya’s mother opened up about his powerful batting skills

In IPL 2025, when Priyansh Arya hit a century in a match against Chennai Super Kings, his mother, Radha had a conversation with the news agency, PTI, during which she expressed her happiness on the same. For the unversed, the player crossed 100 runs in only 39 balls. His mother spoke about Priyansh’s discipline, hardwork and dedication towards cricket. She was quoted as saying:
