The news came as a shock to fans, as earlier both of them had fooled them into thinking they were engaged. Now, Prerana a while back took to her social media handle to showcase her engagement ring and how Saikat had proposed to her.
Prerana Das and Saikat Dey are officially engaged
For those who do not know, content creators Prerana Das and Saikat Dey have been collaborating for years. They have always been shipped by fans. A while back, Prerana took to her Instagram handle to showcase her golden engagement ring. Her nails were manicured, and she had applied sky-blue and peach nail polish. Prerana had tagged Saikat in the post and, in her caption, mentioned:
"The one where I said yes."

The second picture posted by Prerana Das showcased that a romantic beachside proposal setup was organised by Saikat. There was a large heart-shaped object decorated with flowers, and in the middle, it had the text written, "Will you marry me"? The aisle leading towards the floral heart was decorated with white roses and an array of other flowers. It seemed as if Saikat wanted to make Prerana feel extra special, as the pathway was lined with lanterns and candles on both sides, casting a warm glow.
Prerana Das, in her post, had also thanked everyone and told them to wait for the main pictures. She revealed that she was excited to share the post. Her fans started wishing her and Saikat congratulations. A puzzled fan wondered if it was a shooting set, while some told her, "I hope this is not a prank; else I will block you. Omg! I don't know how to process this moment. Congratulations! So, so, so happy for you, Prerana didi."
Another fan could not digest that Prerana was engaged to Saikat, as a user wrote, "Hope this one is not another prank, but who’s the one? Please don't get married. Please. Want to see you giggling and happy throughout your life, please." A user congratulating the couple mentioned:
"Congratulations, Prerana di. I have honestly seen you and dada at the resto near Rabindra Sarobar. Literally so happy for you, Prerana di no nazar."
The reason fans cannot believe that Prerana and Saikat got engaged is that, in 2024, they fooled their fans. Pictures and videos from Prerana and Saikat's wedding had surfaced on social media. Both of them looked happy as they started their forever journey. Later, it was found that the snaps from Saikat and Prerana's wedding were actually a part of a brand's ad shoot.
It is worth noting that in 2024, neither Prerana nor Saikat had confirmed they were getting married. Netizens were extremely upset because of this. They had taken to the comments section of the reel, and a user had said, "Biye take akta joke baniye rekhe dieche! Just for views!" (They have made marriages a joke just for views.)
There was another netizen who had commented, "Prank of the year. Ek second, era reel er jonno biye kore nilo?" (Wait a second, they just got married just for a reel?) A user also wrote, This is a real wedding, not fake. So when people were saying ki it is for an advertisement, they were right." Prerana and Saikat's fans were very upset to know that they did not get married, but the wedding pictures were from a brand shoot. Prerana looked like a beautiful Bengali bride in the snaps. Her fans were very angry that she and Saikat had made a fool of them.
