Netizens had mixed reactions to Anne's emotional moment- some attributed it to her pregnancy hormones, others praised her for being empathetic and all heart, while a few felt she did it for the camera. Anne Hathaway cried a little while sharing some poignant words during a recent interview
In a recent promotional event, Anne Hathaway was seen tearing up a little. Her vulnerable side was seemingly triggered when she was asked a question about the queer community. Anne has been a longtime advocate and ally for LGBTQIA+ folks, so the interviewer felt she was the right person to ask the question. Queer media journalist Tracy E. Gilchrist asked Anne to share a message with young queer people.
Anne Hathaway acknowledged that "It's such a big question," and then answered it politely. She stated, "There's nothing about being queer or LGBTQIA that should require any special message." Although she feels that's the ideal scenario, she knows society has yet to reach it. Anne admitted that talking about non-binary people is the need of the hour, and she wants them to know that she is always by their side.

Anne said that queer people need to know that they are "worthy of love" and respect as much as any heterosexual person is. The actress added that she knows "it should be baked in human experience," and she feels sorry, saying, "it sucks that it's not." At that time, Anne got teary-eyed and said, "I'm gonna cry," and the interviewer got emotional too upon hearing Anne's poignant words.
Anne Hathaway's emotional moment during the Verity promotional event sparked mixed reactions
The internet collectively agrees that Anne Hathaway is a diva. However, there are innumerable sides of her that go beyond her beauty, i.e., her acting and her authentic, sensitive side, which she is not afraid of showing to the world. Instagram users were full of praise for Anne's kind words for the queer community, with one saying, "Omg, what a beautiful response. It's almost as if she's speaking from basic common sense, empathy and compassion."
Another one stated, "To be able to do a speech like this in your final weeks of pregnancy while doing a whole year of press tours shows she really cares. Also respect for being able to do all of that." A third wrote, "She's iconic! This is how everyone should use their platform!" A fourth stated, "As a gay man, this made me cry. It's so hard to find love and it often feels like maybe I'm just not meant to find it or feel that. This helped a little."

Many called Anne a "queen" and lauded her for wearing her heart on her sleeves. However, users on X (formerly Twitter) didn't seem quite impressed. Some made neutral comments, attributing Anne Hathaway's sudden mood swings and vulnerability to her pregnancy. One of them wrote, "She's at that late stage of pregnancy where any/everything makes you cry." Others were harsh with their words.
An X user stated, "So sick and tired of these spoilt and surreal Hollywood brats. Half of the world is on fire... and in their sicko bubble everthing is about LGBT blabla." Another one commented, "Typical Hollywood put an act & crying about oppression while they are doing is promoting degeneracy, immorality, and moral decay in society." A third wrote, "You can't tell me that all "celebrities "are willing to die in the alphabet community. It's all for show."
