Many trends of yesteryears are making a comeback and that too with a splash. More and more people are giving due importance to the religious and spiritual aspects of a nuptial, observing all the etiquettes and even giving in to mildly superstitious practices to ward off the evil eye. Wedding monograms or wedding logos have regained their lost popularity, as couples find these an ideal way to remind the guests that it is their wedding and they have all the right to feel exhilarated.
The trend
These wedding monograms function just like a unique personalized logo that can be printed, embossed or stuck on just about any part of the wedding preparations. Usually, the bride’s and the groom’s initials are combines in an artistic way to form the monogram. The colors should be in harmony with the overall theme color of the wedding/reception, or else the logo will appear to be out of place.
Monogram Etiquettes
There are a set of pre-defined monogram etiquettes, which you may or may not wish to follow. The etiquette says that before the wedding ceremony, all the invitations, save the dates, gifts etc on the side of the bride and the groom must carry the separate initials of the bride and the groom. However, in India, there is a pleasant twist in the trend whereby a single combines monogram bearing the initials of the bridal couple set in intricate designs is used on all the things. When their union is finalized, why should the wedding monogram not proclaim them as one?
The initials-arrangement
On the verge of sounding too conservationist, I again refer to the wedding monogram etiquette which has a set pattern for arranging the initials of the bridal couple. Personally, I consider it the best way. Starting with the left, the bride’s first name initial will come first, followed by the last name initial of the groom (in the centre) and the first name initial of the groom on the right. The centre last name initial would be larger than the other two, indicating the solemn union.
There are other ways also, like joining the initials of the couple with an ampersand or using their first names in the similar fashion. It all depends upon the whims of the couple, bride to be precise. Isn’t it all about giving the wedding a unique & personal touch?

Cards, Flowers, Linens & more…
You can use these affectionately fashionable monograms on virtually everything. Couples are even going in for personalized bed linens for their first night. So much so that those opting for wedding registry have even requested the store to use their monogram on all the gifts and the thank you cards. Monogram lighting to light up the reception area or the dance floor is very much in vogue.
Last Words
Finally, remember these two things:
a) The monogram design and colors should complement the overall wedding theme.
b) Do not go over the top with the use of the monogram.
