Sudarshan tragically died at the age of 52, just six days before his 53rd birthday. The cause of his death was confirmed to be natural causes, as per reports. Peddi Sudarshan Reddy's untimely death led to tributes from his partymen, his followers, friends and close associates. The tragic event also sparked an interest in his personal life, particularly his marriage with Peddi Swapna. Sudarshan's wife kept her personal life away from the spotlight. She avoided the intense online scrutiny that comes from being a family member of a renowned personality like an ex-Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader.
As for Swapna's professional endeavours, she is also into politics like her late husband. She reportedly has been active in the field, serving as a Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member from the Nallabelly region and as a ZP floor leader. Not much is known about her beyond that. As for her marriage to Peddi Sudarshan Reddy, the specific date is not available; however, it is known that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao attended the happy event.

Senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader Peddi Sudarshan Reddy died from a cardiac arrest on July 31, 2026 at midnight (around 12:51 a.m.). On July 26, 2026, he suffered from a severe pulmonary embolism and collapsed at his residence in Hanamkonda, Telangana. For the unversed, pulmonary embolism is a sudden blood clot blockage in the lung arteries. It led to a heart attack, following which Sudarshan was reportedly rushed to a local private hospital.
At the hospital, the medical teams performed CPR nine times for nearly an hour to restore Sudarshan's basic heart functioning. His condition worsened after he suffered anoxic brain damage. He was transferred to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad, for better treatment facilities. The 52-year-old politician was reportedly taken to the medical center swiftly via a traffic-free Green Channel clearance. There, Sudarshan was put on a ventilator, which initially stabilised his vitals.
Then tests like an EEG and brain MRI were done to determine the exact cause of his health issues. They revealed that prolonged lack of oxygen during Peddi Sudarshan Reddy's cardiac arrest resulted in severe brain damage. The former Narsampet MLA remained unconscious and kept fighting for his life for five days before succumbing to the ailment.
Coming to Sudarshan's profession, he was a prominent Indian politician from Telangana who started off as a close associate of BRS founder K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) since the party's formation in 2001. He later served as the BRS district president for Warangal for eight years and as the state general secretary. He also actively participated in the final leg of the movement for a separate Telangana state.
Following the formation of Telangana, Peddi Sudarshan Reddy served as the Chairman of the Telangana State Civil Supplies Corporation from 2016 to 2018. After that, he won the 2018 Telangana Legislative Assembly elections from Narsampet and served as an MLA, representing the Narsampet constituency in the Warangal district from 2018 to 2023.
Following Sudarshan's sudden demise, major political figures including Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, BRS president KCR, and K.T. Rama Rao extended their condolences. As a mark of respect, commercial shops and traders in his constituency voluntarily closed down.
