However, it is due to some of her controversial statements that the actress has grabbed a lot of attention in the past. From making claims of dating Irfan Pathan for five years to expressing her desire to get married to Mohammed Shami and be his second wife, Payal has indeed helmed the headlines with her statements. Yet again, the diva turned heads with another of her shocking claims.
Taking to her social media handle, X (formerly known as Twitter), Payal Ghosh penned a note, where she made a shocking claim about her personal life. The diva talked about the time when she dated Irfan Pathan and added that at the same time, Gautam Gambhir used to give her missed calls. She further added that Irfan was aware of the entire thing. Revealing how Gautam talked about calling Payal to other cricketers including Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Yusuf Pathan, Payal concluded:
“Gautam Gambhir mujhe regularly miscall dete the , yeh Irfan ko bohot achhi ta rah pata tha , woh mera sab calls check karta tha .. woh yeh baat mere Samna Yusuf bhai, Hardik Aur Krunal Pandya ko bhi bataya tha jab main irfan ko Pune mein Milne gayi thi.. Domestic match tha Baroda ka.”

Well, in another post on X, Payal dropped a picture of her with Irfan Pathan and revealed that she fell ill after breaking up with him. She added that after their breakup, she wasn’t able to work for years and revealed that she only loved him and nobody else. In her words:
“After we broke up … I fell ill .. I couldn’t work for years… but he was the only guy whom I loved… after that I never loved anybody.”
Back in November 2023, amidst all the hype for the World Cup 2023 final, Payal Ghosh grabbed all the attention when she made a public appeal on X (formerly Twitter), wherein she expressed her desire to get married to Mohammed Shami. The diva penned a witty note and revealed:
“#Shami Tum apna English sudharlo, I'm ready to marry you.”

Back in September 2023, amidst the much-hype about the ‘Me Too’ movement, Payal Ghosh added fuel to the fire when she made a shocking allegation against the filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap. Taking to her social media handle, Payal accused Anurag of forcing himself on her. Calling the latter a demon, Payal demanded the Prime Minister of India and other authorities to take action against Anurag Kashyap.
