Veteran British actor, Patrick Godfrey, who was highly celebrated and respected for his amazing acting as Leonardo da Vinci in the movie, Ever After: A Cinderella Story has unexpectedly passed away. Well, the heartbreaking news comes days after the tragic death of Top Gun: Maverick actor, James Handy. Two back-to-back deaths of veteran actors has left the entire film industry in shock. Patrick Godfrey’s cause of death

If reports are to be believed, Patrick Godfrey passed away on June 4, 2026, at the age of 93. His death was confirmed by his talent agency the next day. According to his agency, the actor died peacefully at his home and at that time, he was surrounded by his family. It is worth mentioning that the agency did not reveal the cause of his sudden death. However, there are high chances that the actor passed away due to age-related sickness. It is also worth noting that Patrick did not have any major health issues that could claim his life. The statement by his agency can be read as:

"It is with great sadness that we can confirm Patrick Godfrey passed away last night. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Paddy was an exceptionally talented actor and a remarkable individual, and we will miss him greatly."

Even though Patrick Godfrey had been in the film industry for nearly 70 years, the veteran actor managed to keep his personal life away from the media attention. It is worth noting that there is very little information available about the actor. However, a few reports claim that the actor was married to actress, Amanda Walker. The two reportedly tied the knot in 1960. The couple have two children. Their daughter named Kate allegedly served as Head of Voice at the Royal Shakespeare Company. Patrick Godfrey’s death has left everyone in shock, especially his neighbour and playwright, Bill Rosenfield. A while after the veteran actor passed away, Bill took to his Facebook and shared a lengthy note for him. He also shared a heartwarming photo of Patrick and shared that even though the world remembers the actor as a good actor, he will fondly remember the actor as a good neighbour. A part of his note can be read as:

"Our wonderful next-door neighbor, Patrick Godfrey, passed away peacefully last night. He was 93 years old. Our hearts go out to our friends: his wife, Amanda Walker, and their children Kate and Richard. With a theatrical career spanning nearly 70 years (!), Patrick is a prime example of what it means to be a 'working actor'. Over those decades, you've seen him countless times on film…on television…and on stage—it is a rich rollercoaster of a career, one which any actor would be proud to call their own. Yet, it's the good neighbor we'll remember most fondly."

Talking about the veteran actor, Patrick Godfrey, he was reportedly born in 1933 and discovered his passion for acting at a young age. For the unversed, he was involved in films, television projects and even did theatre. Some of his work includes A Room with a View, Maurice, The Remains of the Day, The Count of Monte Cristo, Doctor Who, Ever After and more. He was one of the most respected actors.
