Parineeti Chopra rose to immense popularity with her role in the 2011 romcom, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. She was then seen in several other popular films, such as Ishaqzaade, Shuddh Desi Romance, Hasee Toh Phasee, Kesari, and many more. In her personal life, the actress got married to the love of her life, Raghav Chadha, in September 2023 amidst the presence of their near and dear ones. They hosted their grand wedding festivities in Udaipur, and various known names from the world of showbiz and politics graced their special day.
One of the highlights of Parineeti and Raghav’s wedding festivities was the special song, O Piya, which the actress dedicated to her groom. The same song was played during the couple's varmala ceremony. Recently, in an interview with the Times of India, Parineeti opened up about this special gesture of hers for her husband. She revealed that the two initially bonded over music, and said:
“Raghav and I bonded over music; I sing and have access to people from the industry like music composers, music directors, and so I wanted to do something very special, and unique at the wedding. I made that song, and it was a big surprise for everybody, especially Raghav."

Further into the conversation, the actress recalled the moment when O Piya was played for the first time. She reminisced the time when she walked down the aisle, and the same song was played in the background. Parineeti mentioned that everyone heard O Piya for the first time in their wedding ceremony. She further added that it was indeed a special moment for both of them and it will forever remain etched in her and Raghav’s hearts. She said:
“When I walked down the aisle is when that song played for the first time. So, all the guests including Raghav, was listening to it for the first time. It was a special moment which we will never forget. It’s something that is ours, and nobody can take it away from us.”
While Parineeti composed the song, O Piya just for her and Raghav’s wedding, she was equally surprised to see so many people using the song as their wedding anthem. In the same conversation, the actress said that the success of the song came as a surprise to her. Parineeti said:
“The biggest surprise was the success of that song. We didn’t know that it will become a popular wedding song and everybody will be using it in their weddings. That is something we had never imagined. It was a song that I wanted to create just for Raghav and me, but it ended at many people’s weddings, and that for me is an added bonus.”

Just a few days ago, Parineeti Chopra set her foot into live singing. She said that she wants to explore live gigs more seriously hereon. During the interview, the actress-turned-singer discussed that she has an affinity for music, and is always singing or humming some song. She said:
“I am always singing, and I am always humming, and I am always talking about music. Music is around me, all the time!”
