Maestro Ghazal singer, Pankaj Udhas was one of the gems in the music industry. He is known for his melodious songs, including Aaj Phir Tum Pe, Mat Kar Itna Guroor, Chitthi Aayi Hai, Chandi Jaisa Rang Hai Tera and many more. Starting his journey in the world of music in the '80s until his demise, the ace singer lent his voice to numerous songs. Moreover, even at the age of 72, he didn't miss the chance to perform live on stage.
However, the singer, Pankaj Udhas, left for the heavenly abode on February 26, 2024, after suffering from a severe bout of pancreatic cancer for the past few months. Thus, it is one of the most difficult phases for his family. Now, on February 27, 2024, when the last rites are to be performed at his residence in Mumbai, his daughter, Reva Udhas was spotted arriving over there. She looked completely heartbroken and was seen approaching his daddy's home teary-eyed.

Following Reva, her father's mortal remains were also brought to their home, where his last rites will be performed. Later, many other family members and relatives were seen entering Pankaj's home. A few times later, Reva also left Pankaj's home, seemingly being devastated by the huge loss of her life.

On February 26, 2024, Pankaj Udhas' family had confirmed the heart-wrenching news of his demise with a press statement shared by his daughter, Nayaab Udhas, on her Instagram handle. The Udhas' family' statement could be read as "With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhar on February 26, 2024, due to a prolonged illness." Soon, many celebrities expressed their condolences.

Afterwards, in a recent interaction with The Indian Express, Anup Jalota remembered his dear friend, Pankaj and talked about the latter's illness. Anup claimed that Pankaj had been suffering from a severe bout of pancreatic cancer for the past few months. Moreover, Anup stated that he is grief-stricken after losing one of his best friends, with whom he had been together for almost 45 years. He recalled:
“The man who helped so many cancer patients, himself died of cancer. That is life. He had pancreatic cancer. I knew this for the last 5 to 6 months, and he stopped talking to me in the last 2-3 months, so I realized that his health was not okay. I feel very sad that this illness took his life. People have lost Pankaj Udhas, but I have lost a very dear friend today. We were friends for 45 years. We used to spend beautiful evenings together. In those days, Pankaj, me, and Talat Aziz were famous. We would work together.”
This is indeed a challenging period for Pankaj Udhas' family. We wish immense strength for them.
