Pankaj Tripathi's Father Passes Away At The Age Of 99, Actor Shares 'With A Heavy Heart'

Pankaj Tripathi's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari dies at the age of 99, and the actor has left for his village to perform his last rites.

Pankaj Tripathi's Father Passes Away At The Age Of 99, Actor Shares 'With A Heavy Heart'

Pankaj Tripathi is going through the most difficult phase of his life as his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari passed away on August 21, 2023. The actor has already left for his village to perform the last rites in Gopalganj, Bihar. Pankaj Tripathi's father took his last breath in his village, where he lived with his wife, while Pankaj lived with his wife and daughter in Mumbai.

The shocking news came at a time when Pankaj Tripathi was basking in the success of his film, OMG 2. Pankaj's father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari lived a wholesome life of 99 years. The family confirmed the news of the actor's father's demise with an official statement, which can be read as:

"It's with a heavy heart to confirm that Pankaj Tripathi’s father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari is no more. He lived a wholesome life of 99 years. His last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is currently on his way to his village in Gopalganj."

Pankaj Tripathi's father wanted him to become a doctor

Pankaj Tripathi comes from a humble background, and his father was a farmer. He hailed from a village in Gopalganj in North Bihar. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Pankaj Tripathi once revealed that his father wanted him to become a doctor, as the people of his village only knew about two professions — an engineer and a doctor. 

Further in the same interview, Pankaj Tripathi revealed that his father supported his dream. However, his only concern was that he would be able to earn his rozi-roti. The actor told them that if he went to Delhi, he could even get a government job, and this gave confidence to his family. Interestingly, Pankaj learnt acting from Delhi's famous National School of Drama.
