While India has a plethora of designers churning out pretty lehengas every wedding season, Indian women love taking inspiration from lehengas across the border. Yes, apart from Hindi films, it is the love for ethnic fashion that binds India and Pakistan in one thread.
Pakistani brides don't shy away from trying Indian designer outfits for their big day, and vice-versa. In fact, we have also spotted Indian brides ordering lehenga over a video call and getting it via a complex shipping method. Recently, we stumbled upon a Pakistani bride, whose mother especially hand-painted her wedding day lehenga in pretty pastel colours.

Recently, we stumbled upon a Pakistani bride, Zara Peerzada from Lahore, who got married to her childhood sweetheart, Sarwan Saleh. Their wedding was an intimate at-home wedding. However, the highlight of it was the bride's beautiful floral lehenga in pastel-shades, which was hand-painted by her mother in the living room of her home.
The bride styled the hand-painted lehenga featuring a huge gota-patti border. It was teamed with a golden full-sleeved blouse and a floral sheer dupatta. Her look was accentuated with subtle makeup with a soft dewy base, and hair tied in a bun with real flower adornment.
The bride accentuated her look with layered jhumkis with meenakari detailing and a matching neckpiece. On the other hand, her groom wore a cream-toned kurta with a pink floral sleeveless jacket, and twinned with his bride.
Sharing the pictures of her lehenga, the bride shared her deepest thoughts on her lehenga, which was hand-painted by her mother in the living room of their house. She expressed her gratitude in a long note, and wrote:
"My mother painstakingly painted this by hand on the floor of our living room because that’s how she likes doing it or on the sofa using a 20 year old plastic tray as her easel, because that is her way. I love you, mama @peerzadajabeen this was the greatest gift in the world."
