Mahira Khan is one of the most popular and highest-paid actresses in Pakistan. She is best known for portraying 'Khirad' in the television series, Humsafar opposite Fawad Khan. The former VJ, Mahira marked her Bollywood debut with the film, Raees opposite actor, Shah Rukh Khan, in 2017. In her personal life, the diva recently got hitched for a second time to entrepreneur, Salim Karim. For the unversed, she was previously married to Ali Aksari, with whom she had a son, Azlan. But their marriage ended back in 2015.
In one of her old interviews with Fuschia Magazine, Mahira Khan had opened up on some unheard tales of her life and spoke about a time when she had to do a handful of odd jobs in order to earn money. Speaking about the lowest phase of her life, the diva remembered cleaning toilets and sweeping floors, when she was staying in Los Angeles. Moreover, she also spoke about how she used to go to restaurants with nothing more than a dollar in her hand, and purchased meagre food that she then shared with her brother. In her words:
“You do fall ya. Sometimes it's an apparent fall, in front of public. And then there are very personal falls, that ones you cannot talk about. I shared the things where I want people to know that I've also seen tougher times in life. I've also sweeped floors, cleaned toilets during my time in LA. This is a journey that has not been easy but it's a great thing that has happened. You guys keep calling me humble, but how can I not be when I've experienced this time where we used to go to restaurants and share a $1 meal between me and my brother.”

For the unversed, Mahira Khan had tied the knot with her ex-husband, Ali Aksari when she was all but 17 years old. However, some irreconcilable issues that crept up between the once-in-love couple led to their split in 2015. In one of her previous interviews with the FWhy podcast, Mahira Khan had spilt beans about the kind of equation she continues to share with her ex-husband, especially when it concerns their son, Azlaan. The diva spoke about how her son had bonded with his father, as well as the latter’s new family, since Ali had gotten married again in 2017 and was blessed with a son, Zahir. Speaking along the same lines, Mahira mentioned:
“Ali is married to the loveliest girl right, we respect each other's partners, it's taken a lot, but we're there, Alhamdulillah. Azlaan says to me, you know I love Zahir more than you. Really? He says yes. And he means it. I like that he means it.”
Despite having parted ways, Mahira continues to share an amicable bond with her ex-husband, Ali. Moreover, she also maintains a cordial bond with Ali’s family, who used to be her ex-in-laws. Speaking about the same, Mahira, in a 2021 interview had mentioned:
“I think that Azlaan’s father and their family and my family, we are on the same page, when it comes to Azlaan. I’m very close to them, even now, as I have grown up in their house. It takes work, it takes swallowing your pride at times, and it takes trying to understand the other person. And for your child’s sake, you do it. If you’re lucky that people from both sides are good and looking at the child’s well-being and true happiness, then you forget the bitterness.”

It was on October 2, 2023, when we stumbled upon the first glimpses of Mahira Khan’s dreamy wedding with her long-time beau, Salim Karim. The surreal clip was first shared by Mahira’s manager, Anushay Talha Khan on her social media handle. Later, Mahira, too dropped some mushy glimpses of the same. For her D-Day, Mahira walked down the aisle with her son, Azlaan by her side. She looked breathtaking in an exquisite lilac-hued lehenga, Salim looked dapper in a black-hued bandhgala suit, teamed with a blue turban.
