Operation Safed Sagar, Netizens Are Upset With Prajakta Koli's Acting As An IAF Officer's Partner

The Indian war drama series, Operation Safed Sagar, recently released on Netflix, has become one of the most talked-about OTT releases. On the one hand, the show has received love for performances by stars such as Jimmy Shergill, Siddharth, and Abhay Verma. Well, on the other hand, netizens are not at all happy with Prajakta Koli's performance as 'Mrs. Madhavi Reddy' in Operation Safed Sagar.

In Operation Safed Sagar, Prajakta Koli is shown playing the role of 'Flying Officer C.H. Bal Reddy's girlfriend ', Madhavi'. 'Flying Officer C.H. Bal Reddy's role is played by Mihir Ahuja. 'Madhavi' is shown as 'Bal Reddy's' girlfriend, who pressures him into marriage. 'Bal Reddy' is shown to be focused on his career and serving the nation. He is not mentally ready for marriage, and 'Madhavi' is seen leaving her home and family to come to 'Reddy's base area.

As the series progresses, 'Bal Reddy' who is first disturbed by 'Madhavi's' presence and is unable to focus on his job, realises he needs both her and his love for the uniform. Fans have loved their chemistry, but some feel that Prajakta did not perform well in Operation Safed Sagar. A Redditor wrote, "Person with the lowest IQ in the series Operation Safed Sagar. Most misfit, untalented actor in the whole cast of Safed Sagar."

A third angry user also went on to write, "If you ever feel useless in your life, just think about Prajakta Koli's role in Operation Safed Sagar. Great direction & performances. The only track that didn’t work for me was Baldy’s (Mihir Ahuja). Also, Prajakta Koli should be banned from acting."

Netizens loved the series Operation Safed Sagar, and a user spoke about going back to when news of the Kargil War came in. The series' deep dives into high-altitude war strategy and geopolitics kept audiences hooked. Users felt that Prajakta did not know what she was doing in Operation Safed Sagar. Some users had also added that Prajakta was not the right choice to play the role of 'Madhavi'. One had also stated that she did not know what she was doing in the series.

Operation Safed Sagar series on Netflix is being loved by fans. This is because the immense contribution of the Indian Air Force during the 1999 Kargil War has been showcased. Mihir and Prajakta played the role of a young pair in the series. Director Oni Sen ensured that their chemistry looked real. Oni invested a lot of time in preparing the stars before the shooting of Operation Safed Sagar.

The makers of Operation Safed Sagar did not rely just on the performances of Mihir and Prajakta. The team worked to understand their characters through an extensive rehearsal process. A report by Mid-Day mentioned:

"The approach was to set up character dynamics before the cameras rolled. The actors went through multiple script-reading sessions, improvisation exercises, and blocking rehearsals. Those sessions helped them understand each other’s performance rhythms, pauses, and emotional cues." 

What fans loved about Operation Safed Sagar was that it was grounded in reality. No drama, no sudden deshbhakti songs, etc. It shows that, despite incurring initial losses, the IAF brilliantly overcame technical limitations through research, strategy, and trials. The VFX is also top-notch. For the most part, it did not feel out of place.

Oni Sen does brilliantly in keeping the screenplay focused on the plot, and the emotional peaks are amazing! The report had also mentioned that Mihir's and Prajakta's scenes unfold amid little dialogue, their non-verbal communication bridging an emotional connection between both characters.
