Olivia Wilde reacts to the criticism that emerged when she and Harry Styles were together

Olivia Wilde recently appeared for an interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, which aired on June 17, 2026. During the conversation, Olivia recalled the time when she was with Harry Styles and addressed the criticism that emerged from their relationship. Olivia told host Alex Cooper that people were frustrated. Olivia also referred to the fact that it has been happening to a lot of women for a long time and continued:

“It also had a lot to do with the kind of parasocial relationship people had with have him, which is a burden that is very weighty and not something I envy and he carries it with grace. I think that is an enormous responsibility that all those, like stars have to carry and it’s fucking impossible. I don’t know. It’s wild because I mean we had the loveliest relationship.”

Olivia even described her relationship with Harry as sweet and beautiful. She said that they existed in a “little bubble” and there was no one to judge them in that place. Olivia added that she believes that people were mad with happiness that appeared in front of them. 

Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles were in a relationship for a year

The romance between Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles dates back to September 2020, when they collaborated on a film, Don’t Worry Darling. Notably, Olivia’s relationship with Jason Sudeikis ended around a month later in November 2020. The duo then appeared together in California in January 2021 to attend the wedding of Harry’s agent. The pair was spotted holding hands on the occasion.

The former couple was seen together in a few other places throughout the year. They even went to Italy in July 2021, where they kissed each other on top of a yacht. Although the relationship was never officially announced anywhere, Harry Styles started getting close to the children of Olivia Wilde by December 2021. Harry then released a single, As It Was, in April 2022, with fans believing that it was seemingly referring to Olivia Wilde.

An insider claimed in May 2022 that the duo’s relationship was taking a serious turn, and Olivia Wilde has managed to bring out the romantic side of Harry Styles. However, several sources confirmed in November 2022 that the pair was on a break, adding that they continue to share a close friendship. Although none of them announced the split from their side, a source later claimed:

“They have had some issues, but Olivia thought they were gonna work through it all. She is disappointed. It’s just a tricky situation, though.”
