A while ago, a source close to Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe had a conversation with People Magazine, during which the source confirmed the couple’s split. Revealing the reason behind the split, the source made it clear that it was their busy schedule that became extremely challenging.
Despite their split, both Olandria and Nic continue to be friends and still have mutual respect and love towards each other. As per the insider, they will continue to support each other. The source was quoted as saying:
"The distance between them and their busy schedules made it challenging to maintain their connection. They still remain close friends. They share a deep love and respect for each other and will always support one another whenever possible."
Ever since the source confirmed Olandria and Nic’s split, multiple fans have been expressing their thoughts on social media. One X (formerly Twitter) user commented, "Another villa couple bitten by distance and scheduling. At least they made a solid run of it post-show." Another user wrote, "It was so nice. They were both smart, had sense, and supported each other. Imma miss seeing Nic troll the racísts that come for her."

Olandria Carthen and Nic Vansteenberghe's love story began on Love Island USA Season 7. It was during the Casa Amor twist when they first crossed paths. Initially, even though Olandria fell for Nic, she did not act on it because Nic paired up with Cierra Ortega. However, when Cierra got eliminated, Nic and Olandria expressed their feelings and paired up.
After the reality show, they made their relationship official. Soon, they became one of the most-loved couples of Love Island. It is worth mentioning that even though fans loved seeing them together, Nic and Olandria kept their romance private. Months ago, Olandria opened up about the same and said:
"Mentally, we were both just drained. I’m like, ‘Okay, maybe if we share less, that’s better.’ But even then, discourse starts because we don’t share enough. I’m like, I don’t know how to find a happy medium in this life now."
Later, in June 2026, Olandria Carthen had a chat with Cosmopolitan, during which she explained that she was creeped out by the backlash she and Nic were facing for keeping their relationship private. She was quoted as saying:
"I don’t always post what people want me to or always do what people want me to do. Why does it matter if me and Nic are together? Even when we were at Coachella, people in the comments were like, ‘Oh, I just needed proof that they saw each other this week.’ Why are you so invested in people that don’t know you? We don’t monetize our relationship or put it on display. If you genuinely like spending quality time with somebody, it shouldn’t involve a camera every two seconds."
