Curry Barker’s Obsession opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences after its release in the US on May 15, 2026. Two weeks later, the film arrived in the theatres of India on May 29, 2026. The trailer has already created a lot of buzz, with the basic concept getting a lot of attention and the results that would be witnessed throughout the film.
The main premise of Obsession focuses on ‘Bear,’ who is in love with a girl named ‘Nikki.’ ‘Bear’ uses a supernatural toy called One Wish Willow to fulfil his wish for ‘Nikki’ to develop feelings for him. However, the wish brings its own issues for ‘Bear.’ The plot is interesting and undoubtedly new. But the question is whether the consequences of the wish end at one point and how it changes the lives of everyone, including ‘Bear.’ Keep reading to know more!

As mentioned, the plot is about an individual whose one move brings a lot of trouble for him. ‘Bear’ wants ‘Nikki’ to fall for him. It happens after he uses One Wish Willow. But the results turn out to be different, and ‘Bear’ feels like things should have been the way they were so far. The reality could not be that ‘Nikki’ has developed feelings for ‘Bear.’ ‘Nikki’ has been possessed by something, which is now in love with ‘Bear.’

The real ‘Nikki’ is not dead. She frequently appears in multiple moments throughout the film. The real ‘Nikki’ appears for the first time when she kisses ‘Bear,’ but stops instantly. In another moment, she starts hurting herself at a party after narrating the story of Hansel & Gretel. There is one sequence where ‘Bear’ tries to leave the house and meet ‘Sarah.’ ‘Nikki’ tells him at this point that he should kill her. This means that whatever has possessed her is not active during that period.

‘Nikki’s’ behaviour becomes a concern for ‘Bear’ as the film progresses. ‘Nikki’ can be seen doing the worst things after ‘Bear’s’ wish comes true. This includes a memorial for ‘Bear’s’ dead cat and making a sandwich out of the dead cat. This eventually forces ‘Bear’ to find a solution, which is to reverse the wish.

‘Bear’ purchased the toy from a store, and obviously, it is the only place that can tell him how to stop ‘Nikki.’ While ‘Bear’ gets to know that people have never been happy after their wishes were fulfilled, he learns that there are two ways to end everything - either ‘Nikki’ should be set free, or ‘Bear’ has to die. ‘Bear’ still has an opportunity to make a second wish and alter the events. Unfortunately, he cannot do that since one person gets only one wish.

‘Bear’ then approaches his friend ‘Ian’ for help. Now, ‘Ian’ needs to wish for something so that 'Bear’s' troubles can end. But the situation backfires when ‘Ian’ wishes for USD 1 billion, and the money falls on top of him from the ceiling. ‘Ian’ dies after ‘Nikki’ shoots him with a gun at ‘Bear’s’ house.
Moments before ‘Ian’s’ death, ‘Nikki’ is spotted asking ‘Bear’ to kill her when he goes to meet another friend, ‘Sarah.’ ‘Bear’ and ‘Sarah’ speak in the car, where the latter reveals that ‘Ian’ and ‘Nikki’ have been seeing each other for a long time. However, ‘Nikki’ finds the duo and kills ‘Sarah,’ whose dead body is later discovered by ‘Bear’ inside his house in a worse condition. ‘Nikki,’ who is wearing ‘Sarah’s’ clothes, puts a gun to herself and ‘Bear.’

At this point, ‘Bear’ decides to consume the oxycodone pills and tries to kill himself. While he changes his decision, it is too late since ‘Nikki’ uses the last toy left for the same wish that ‘Bear’ made to get her. The duo kiss until ‘Bear’ dies from the complications of having too many oxycodone pills. ‘Nikki’s’ becomes normal as she tries to kill herself. 'Nikki' then starts crying as she discovers that she has lost all those who were close to her.
