Actress and TMC MP, Nusrat Jahan has been in the news for her controversial relationships. After calling her interfaith marriage with businessman, Nikhil Jain invalid, the duo had parted ways. However, after the separation, Nusrat stunned everyone with the announcement of her pregnancy. And in no time, the media started to bombard her with questions about the baby's father. Even in the 21st century, society shamed the actress for having a child out of wedlock.
On August 21, 2021, the actress had given birth to her baby, Yishaan J Dasgupta and later confirmed that her boyfriend, Yash Dasgupta is the father of her child. Nusrat and Yash have been together since 2020, and on several occasions, she hinted that they had already tied the knot. Now, the actress has opened up about why she keeps her child, Yishaan and Yash’s child, Rayansh from his first marriage away from the media glare. For the unversed, Yash was previously married to Shweta Singh Kalhans.
In a recent interview with the Calcutta Times, Nusrat Jahan shared why she and her hubby, Yash Dasgupta doesn’t share pictures of their kids, Yishaan and Rayansh, on social media. Talking about the same, Nusrat mentioned that she doesn’t want her children to grow up with special tags, taunts or attention. In her words:
“It’s a unanimous decision that we took as parents. Yash’s elder son has been kept away from the media too. We want them to grow and live their respective lives without any tags, special preferences or attention.”
Earlier, In a conversation with India Today, Nusrat Jahan had opened up about her difficult pregnancy and facing a lot of trolling on the internet. Recalling the same, Nusrat revealed that she would get up with something or other in store for her. She added how people questioned her for not coming to work during pregnancy. Nusrat could be quoted as saying:
“I am not saying it's easy. I would be lying if I were saying it's easy. You wake up one day and see some headline where someone is trolling you. Oh troll ho gayi hu, woh kya hota hai? Accha fatwa aaraha hai? Many said that she was not to be found. I have been sitting and signing maternity leaves for people. Women are bound and entitled to get that. But in my case, people suddenly stood up and said "Arre aap toh aate hi nahi." My God, I am not a woman? I am not a woman who has conceived? Are you all looking at me from that perspective?"
In an old interview with ETimes, Nusrat had confirmed that Yash is the father of her child, Yishaan. When Yash was questioned about his reaction after knowing about his then-girlfriend, Nusrat’s pregnancy, he said that he wanted the baby but had left the final decision to Nusrat. In his words:
"I didn’t flinch when she told me. I just asked her if she wanted to go ahead with it. It’s not my body — it’s hers. She needed to decide. I told her I’d never leave her side irrespective of her decision. I wanted to have the baby but couldn’t have forced my decision on her. She even told me that if you want nothing to do with the baby, it’s okay, I’ll keep the baby."
