Legendary Serbian tennis player, Novak Djokovic, is known for his amazing game play and his record of winning many matches and tournaments. Famous tennis player, Novak Djokovic, is the father of two little munchkins. He is blessed with a son, Stefan, and a daughter, Tara. Novak Djokovic married his childhood sweetheart, Jelena Djokovic, in 2014, and in the same year, they were blessed with their first child, a son. Later, the family of three was completed with the arrival of their baby girl, Tara, in September 2017. 

The 24-time Grand Slam Champion often showers praise on his children. He never forgets to mention his children in press conferences. Once in 2022, he revealed that he takes on their childish energy to fuel his inner child. In fact, just like their mother, Jelena, Stefan and Tara often cheer for their daddy in the crowd during a tennis tournament. Novak's children even watched him win a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. 

Novak Djokovic's 12-year-old son is a budding tennis player 

Novak and Jelena got pregnant with their first child before marriage, and in the same year, they welcomed their son, Stefan. Novak announced the news after three months of marriage that he was blessed with an angel. Talking about Stefan's choice of interest, he has shown great athletic abilities and showed the world that he loves tennis just like his legendary father. However, Novak has made it clear that he never forced his son to play tennis. It was his son's pure interest to step on the court, and he enjoys the sport. He said:

"I'm not forcing him to play tennis. I never did that, not a single day have I told him that he has to do this. It's really only his pure desire to step on the court. So if he wants to embark on this journey, I guess I have to embark with him too. He's doing well so far, he's really in love with the sport."

In fact, Novak was seen practising with his son at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. Novak often gives technical advice to his son, Stefan, to improve his game. However, Novak shared that his son is following Rafael Nadal's forehand and often teases him by mimicking his rival's swing style. In an interview, Novak had shared:

"He likes to do that. He likes to intimidate me on the court with finishing the swing here. He knows I don’t like that particularly. I’m trying to teach him to finish the hand here, the swing, over the shoulder. He does that, but he does this as well. Whenever he does that he always laughs because he knows. We have these kind of funny moments on the court."

Novak Djokovic's daughter, Tara, is a ballet star and stays away from tennis

After Tara's birth, Novak and Jelena's family was complete. Just like her elder brother, Tara has been seen cheering for her dad on in the stands. However, she has no interest in Tennis. In fact, she is more into ballet and gymnastics. Novak once revealed that it is his daughter who keeps him grounded and humble and spins him around every single day.

Once, Novak revealed that his daughter is not a fan of his game, but rather she loves the Russian player, Andrey Rublev, whom Novak played opposite in Wimbledon quarterfinals in July 2023. Novak shared that his daughter likes him for his headband and his intense energy. In 2024, Tara was spotted reading a book during her dad's Wimbledon matches. In the interview, he shared that he was happy but sad at the same time, as his tennis didn't excite his daughter, so she needed to grab a book. Novak joked:

"I was very happy when I saw that, and sad at the same time. My tennis doesn't make her excited so much ... she needs to grab a book to entertain herself."

Talking about Novak's love story he and Jelena studied in the same Serbian high school that had a sports academy. They started dating in the early 2000s. Jelena recalled their first date at a sports bar in Monte Carlo. She called it super awkward as they were students with barely any money to spend on lavish trips. Jelena revealed that they would find ways to meet each other and make their relationship work. However, after graduation, Jelena and Novak moved in together in Monte Carlo, where she completed her master's degree from the International University of Monaco. After dating each other, they got married in 2014 at the Aman Sveti Stefan Resort in Montenegro. At that time, Jelena was pregnant with their first child.
