The money laundering case of conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has been constantly hitting the headlines for quite a long time. However, now it has taken a host of new developments as the Bollywood actress. Nora Fatehi reportedly filed a defamation suit against popular diva, Jacqueline Fernandez. ED questioned both ladies on December 2, 2022. However, Nora made a complaint that her reputation has been tarnished by Jacqueline.
In a complaint accessed by IANS, Nora Fateshi accused Jacqueline Fernandez of making defamatory allegations against her for malicious reasons. The former's complaint also mentioned that the latter had tried to destroy her career. Nora's counsel advocate, Vikram Chauhan read her complaint as:
"Jacqueline Fernandez is also an actress, and is pretty well known in the film industry. She has also been made an accused in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar Rs 200 crore money-laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate. That the defamatory imputations were made by Fernandez due to malicious reasons. Apart from that, Fernandez sought to criminally defame the complainant(Nora Fatehi) in order to destroy her career to further her own interests since she is also in Bollywood."

Further, Nora Fatehi mentioned in her plea that Jacqueline Fernandez unnecessarily dragged her into the money laundering case and had done this purposefully. Nora pointed out that Jacqueline is well aware of an actress' struggle to make a career. However, she intentionally did this harm to her. Nora's plea can be read as:
"Fernandez has unnecessarily dragged and defamed me as I am in the same industry. She is fully aware that the business of any artiste and their career is solely based on their reputation. This clearly establishes that the said imputation has been made with the intention and knowledge that such imputation will harm the reputation of the complainant."

For the unversed, on December 2, 2022, both Nora and Jacqueline had recorded their statements regarding conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar's Rs 200 crore money laundering case at the questionnaire session with the Enforcement Directorate (ED). As per an old report in DailyO, Jacqueline had allegedly received many luxurious gifts from Sukesh, reportedly worth Rs. 5.71 crores. Moreover, even after knowing Sukesh alleged involvement in such a money laundering case, she was also all set to tie the knot with him.
