Nita Ambani Turns Heads In Sacred Ram-Inspired Ikat Saree As She Receives Her Honorary Doctorate

Nita Ambani, who is popularly known as a businesswoman and the owner of the IPL team, Mumbai Indians, has often made headlines for her graceful presence and powerful fashion statement. For the unversed, Nita Ambani's fashion style often blends traditions and pays tribute to the hard work that went behind making it. Currently, she is making headlines as she received her Honorary Doctorate from KIIT, Odisha; however, it was her outfit that stole the limelight.

Nita Ambani’s saree took nearly two years to be created

For those who do not know, Nita Ambani opted for a custom Swadesh Bandha Ikat brown-hued saree for her big day; however, do you know that it took two years to be created. Well, the beautiful and elegant saree is handwoven by master artisan, Shri Harishankar Meher, who took nearly two years. The saree featured sacred Ram inscriptions. It is worth mentioning that the master artisan used natural dyes. The outfit beautifully reflects faith, tradition and craftsmanship.

Nita Ambani’s saree stood as a symbol of spirituality

It is worth noting that Nita Ambani's saree was not just an outfit, but it also carried a spiritual meaning to it. The saree holds even more special value since Nita Ambani chose to wear it on the occasion of Ram Navami. For those who do not know, Ram Navami celebrates the birth of Lord Ram. 

Apart from sacred inscriptions of Lord Ram, Nita Ambani's earthy-hued saree also featured a Ram Shila-inspired mosaic, with “Ram” inscribed across multiple languages. Nita Ambani beautifully showed how fashion can blend faith, values, tradition, spirituality, and storytelling - reflecting how textiles can carry within them the essence of culture, devotion, and timeless wisdom.

Nita Ambani completed her look with subtle jewellery

Along with the saree, Nita Ambani wore a long and traditional beaded necklace. It was the length of the necklace that stole the limelight. Along with it, she wore statement floral earrings and a ring with a large stone, adding a touch of luxury. Lastly, she completed her look with multiple gold bangles. Coming to her makeup, she went for a subtle look with a nude lipstick and a bindi adding a traditional touch. It is worth noting that Nita Ambani tied her hair in a low bun and adorned it with a few flowers.

Nita Ambani receives Honorary Doctorate from KIIT

Nita Ambani has officially received her Honorary Doctorate from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Odisha. Reportedly, it was given for her amazing contributions to social development. It is worth noting that as the Founder and Chairperson of Reliance Foundation, Nita Ambani has often been a part of impactful activities. 

If a report by GK Today is to be believed, during the ceremony Nita Ambani gave a speech as well, in which she highlighted the importance of 'Seva'. Further, she spoke the importance of education and revealed true success lies in uplifting others and contributing to collective well-being. According to the same report, Nita Ambani also appreciated KIIT and described it as 'modern temple of education'.
