Tagged as an ideal couple of the glamour world, Nisha Rawal and Karan Mehra are going through the saddest phase of their life as the once madly-in-love couple is heading for divorce. Their image of a happy family was shattered on May 31, 2021, when Karan was arrested after Nisha's complaint of domestic violence.
Since then, Karan and Nisha are leaving no stone unturned to mud-sling each other publicly. Be it Nisha accusing Karan of infidelity or Karan revealing that a man, who has an affair with Nisha has been living in their house for the last 11 months, the estranged couple has been washing their dirty linen in public.

In a recently held press conference by Nisha Rawal, the actress talked in detail about the numerous allegations levied upon her by Karan. Responding to Karan’s claim about alimony, as he had said, “Mudda saara paise ka hai”, Nisha stated:
“When we met in 2008, he was working as an assistant stylist for a film, in which I was the heroine. Mudda kabhi paise ka tha hi nahi. We built everything together. He bagged the TV show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai two years after meeting me. I have not asked for alimony — we have only asked for maintenance for the child. I have also said that if Karan doesn’t want to pay that, too, I am fine. In fact, in his new counter-petition, Karan has asked for full custody and wants me to pay maintenance for him and the child.”
In the same interaction, Nisha also addressed Karan’s accusation that she was having an affair with her rakhi brother, Rohit Satia. Nisha responded by saying that whatever she does in her personal life, is none of his business. Stating that she wants to end her marriage amicably with Karan, Nisha retorted:
“I am a peace-loving person and want him to live in peace. I want to focus on my work now. Tamaasha banta jaa raha hai. I am not playing the sympathy card or the woman’s card. Karan is, in fact, playing the sympathy card.”

It was in May 2021, when the rumours of trouble in their paradise had surfaced in the media. On June 1, 2021, the rumours turned out to be true when Karan was arrested from his Mumbai home on the night of May 31, 2021, after Nisha had lodged a complaint of domestic violence against him.
For the unversed, Nisha and Karan had tied the knot in 2012, and they have a son named Kavish.
