Nims Pujra's funeral was held in an extremely private way
Nims Purja's last rites were held at British Forces Brunei and the ceremony was attended by the family to pay their final respects. He was the former Gurkha and UK Special Forces member, and he left the military to follow his heart and went on to become the world-renowned mountaineer.

Nims received the guard of honour at his funeral by the president of the Non-Resident Nepali Association, UK. For the unversed, Nirmal climbed the world's 14 highest peaks and set a record by doing it in 189 days in 2019. His achivement was featured in a Netflix documentary, 14 Peaks: Nothing Is Impossible. The family received his mortal remains on August 9, 2026 and has been kept at an undisclosed locations for security reasons.
Some of the close people who attended the funeral, shared a glimpse of the same on Facebook. Sharing the photo from the funeral, Jayram Dahal prayed for Nims soul. In the photo, a pyre was lit with a beautiful photo of Nims. He called him a legend and remembered his courage and determination. He wrote:
"Rest in Peace, Nirmal “Nims Dai” Purja. A true legend of Himalayan mountaineering, your courage, determination, and extraordinary achievements have inspired millions around the world. Your remarkable journey, deep passion for the mountains, and relentless pursuit of excellence will forever remain a part of mountaineering history. Your legacy will continue to inspire generations to dream bigger, push beyond limits, and reach for the impossible. May your soul rest in peace. Om Mani Padme Hum."
It is worth mentioning that the ceremony has been kept extremely private, with Nims's family, including his wife and daughter, in attendance. Proper security arrangements were made to ensure the family's privacy is maintained.
Earlier, Nims family issued a statement acknowledging the love of the people whose lives were touched by the mountaineer. They highlighted that the funeral will be kept private as they want to grieve in privacy and requested people to understand their state of mind. The statement read:
"Nimsdai's funeral is a private family funeral. The family has nevertheless sought, wherever reasonably possible, to enable those closest to Nimsdai and representatives of the many communities and organisations connected with him to pay their respects. We are immensely grateful for the love, respect and support shown towards Nimsdai. At this exceptionally difficult time, we respectfully ask for everyone's understanding and cooperation and, above all, that the family be given the space to grieve and lay Nimsdai to rest with the dignity, privacy and respect he deserves."

Nims Purja was married to Suchi in 2006. The couple also have a daughter named Himani. Nims's Netflix documentary captures a glimpse of their wedding, and a sweet byte of his wife, Suchi who expressed her love for him. She revealed that Nims was always thinking about something or the other and his brain didn't rest at all.
In the same documentary, Suchi Purja revealed that her friends kept asking her how she stayed strong while her husband climbed the dangerous mountain peaks. She stated that she tried to be strong as she could not keep worrying about him and would one day break down by doing so.
