Nicole Kidman Finally Opens Up About Her Divorce With Keith Urban After 20 Yrs, 'I'm Always Going..'

Nicole Kidman is a popular Hollywood actress, who is currently grabbing attention for her thriller series, Scarpetta. Apart from her career, Nicole's personal life is also making headlines. For the unversed, the actress was married to Keith Urban; however, they decided to part ways in 2025, after 20 years of togetherness. It is worth mentioning that their divorce was finalised in January 2026. Recently, the actress opened up about the same.

Nicole Kidman opens up about her divorce with Keith Urban for the first time

Recently, the much-loved actress, Nicole sat down for a conversation with Variety, during which she broke her silence on her separation with Keith Urban after 20 years of togetherness. When she was asked if she is doing well after the divorce, Nicole explained that she is in a good space because she knows that she is moving towards something good. Further, she revealed that she avoids discussing her divorce as they are a family and will continue to. Nicole Kidman was quoted as saying:

"I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good. What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that. Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, 'We are a family,' and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."

Will Nicole Kidman continue to live in Nashville despite her divorce?

During the same candid conversation with Variety, Nicole Kidman revealed that she has planned to continue living in Nashville even after her divorce. For the unversed, Nicole and her ex-husband, Keith used to live together in Nashville. When asked about the same, the Scarpetta actress stated that Nashville has been her home for 20 years and she won’t leave it. In her words:

"We have our life here. I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home."

For those who do not know, Nicole and Keith got married in 2006, and two years later, by 2007, they shifted to Nashville. Years later, in 2025, a source close to the family told People that Nicole “loves the tight-knit community and group of friends that she has built, and it’s the perfect place to raise her children.” Later, a source revealed that months before the divorce, both two started living separately and shared that their divorce was “inevitable.”

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban first met in 2005. At that time, both of them were well-known faces in their respective fields. For the unversed, Nicole is an actress while Keith is a singer and songwriter. Later, in 2006, the two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony. In 2008, they welcomed their first daughter, Sunday Rose and in 2010, they welcomed Faith Margaret.

Talking about their past relationships, Nicole Kidman was previously married to Hollywood star, Tom Cruise. The ex-couple reportedly met while filming Days of Thunder. Eventually, they fell in love and got married. It is worth mentioning that the duo had adopted two children, Isabella and Connor. However, they parted ways in 2001. On the other hand, Keith dated multiple people and one of the most high-profile relationships was with Niki Taylor.

Even though Keith and Nicole are now officially divorced, they continue to stay connected because of their two daughters. In their individual lives, they are moving forward professionally. Talking about Nicole, her series, Scarpetta is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It was released on March 11, 2026.
