Once in a while we come across a couple, who makes us believe in love and one such evergreen couple is Neetu Kapoor and her late husband, Rishi Kapoor. Referred to as the OG chocolate boy of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor's charm was unimaginable. Girls would write love letters to him and would do anything to catch a glimpse of him. But the handsome Rishi ji was bowled over by the beauty and innocence of actress, Neetu Singh. Their love story had many hurdles, but still they faced everything to be with each other.

On April 30, 2020, Rishi Kapoor had bid adieu to the world and had left for his heavenly abode after a tough fight against cancer. After one month of Rishi ji’s death, Neetu Kapoor had taken to her IG handle and had shared a throwback picture with him to begin her second innings in life. Along with the picture, she had penned an emotional note, which could be read as “Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye Cheerio, here I go on my way With a cheer, not a tear, in your eye Give me a smile, I can keep for a while, In my heart while I'm away.”
Neetu Kapoor appeared on the singing reality show, Indian Idol 12, where she talked about her late husband, Rishi Kapoor. Neetu ji recalled the time when she and Rishi ji broke up during the shooting of Jhootha Kahin Ka. On March 30, 2021, Neetu ji took to her IG handle and shared a collage of videos, where she recounted the same incident that was once narrated by Rishi ji. In the video, Rishi ji had said, “Jhootha Kahi ka, jo gaana tha. Jo ki jab picturise kar rahe the to mai aur Neetu bilkul baat hi nahi kar rahe the. Humara jhagda ho gaya tha, ladai ho gai thi. Chaar din lage gaana picturise karne me, aur ek din na usne baat ki, na maine usase baat ki. Lekin jab aap parde pe dekhenge to bilkul lagega ki ye 'in love' hain, kuch hua ho nahi.”
The collage also consisted Neetu ji’s version, which she shared on the sets of Indian Idol 12, where she had said, “In Jhootha Kahi Ka, Jeevan Ke Har Mod Pe, gaane me hum dance kar rahe hai, bade khush ho rahe hain. But actual mein, we had broken up. Make up room mein ro ro ke buri haalat thi. Mera doctor aya hua tha, mere ko injection maar rahe hain.” Neetu ji captioned the collage of videos as “Same story narrated by both of us on different occasions #indianidol12.”

If there was someone, who stood by Rishi Kapoor like a rock throughout his treatment, then it was his wife, Neetu Kapoor. Taking care of him just like a mother, Neetu ji had always been his pillar of strength. After his death, on May 2, 2020, Neetu ji had shared an emotional farewell post for him. She had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared a picture of Rishi ji with a drink in his hand, posing for the camera with his enchanting smile. She had captioned the picture as “End of our story.”
On June 28, 2020, Neetu ji had posted a throwback picture with the late actor. In the picture, we could see Rishi ji in a formal suit while Neetu ji had donned a pink-coloured ensemble. Alongside it, she had written about the battles and the love of her dear ones and it could be read as "Big or small We all have a battle to fight in our heads you may have a huge house with all the luxuries and still be unhappy whereas have nothing n be the happiest it’s all a state of mind !! All one needs is a strong mind n hope for a better tmrw !!! Live with gratitude, hope, work hard! Value your loved ones as thats your biggest wealth."
