Neeta Lulla highlights how Aishwarya wanted to wear an attire that glorified her Tulu roots

Further in the interview, Neeta Lulla recalled how Aishwarya Rai was very particular about her wedding look. While dressed in the character of ‘Jodha’, she specifically mentioned that she did not want something similar, but instead an outfit that would glorify the cultures and traditions of her Tulu roots. Adding more details about the style of saree and blouse that was finally decided upon, Neeta said:

“Because she’s a south Indian, she’s a Tulu, she wanted that culture too. Her cultural upbringing, her cultural values and everything to exude in her look and her style statement and that’s exactly what we did. We got the saree especially woven for her and the blouse was also very basic 5-inch sleeve blouse like a lot of south Indians wear.”

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s mangalsutra worth 45 Lakhs which she later modified

On their wedding day, Abhishek Bachchan had gifted his wifey, Aishwarya a beautiful solitaire diamond ring, as well as an exquisite, all-diamond studded mangalsutra. The latter featured two double strings, completed by a dainty diamond pendant at the end. Reportedly, it cost around Rs. 45 Lakhs. However, after a few years of their marriage, specifically after the birth of their daughter, Aaradhya, Aishwarya had ended up modifying the mangalsutra to suit her needs as a new mommy. Reportedly, she did not want to wear a heavy mangalsutra and had not only reduced it to just a single string but also shortened it in length.
