There are reports that Nawazuddin’s wife, Aaliya has filed for divorce and also called his brother, Shamas Siddiqui as one of the reasons for this step. Hearing this, Shamas Siddiqui has come forward and clarified his take on the comments.
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Aaliya Siddiqui revealed the reason behind her big decision of ending his marriage with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Aaliya stated, “I was made to feel like a nobody, I always felt alone. His brother Shamas was also an issue.” Now, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s brother has reacted on these claims in a conversation with Zee News and said that he was completely unaware of these things and got to know about divorce from news websites. Well, at this point, it’s hard to predict the matter, but the accusations from Aaliya are quite strong, and in the same interview she has also revealed that “There are a lot of things that I don’t want to bring in the public domain as of now, but our problems started soon after we got married over a decade ago. Two months of lockdown gave me a lot of time to introspect. Self-respect is extremely important in a marriage. Woh meri khatam ho chuki thi, I didn’t have that. I have gone back to my original name, Anjali Kishor Pandey. I don’t want to be reminded that I am using someone’s identity for my benefit.”
The reports of Nawazuddin Siddiqui receiving the divorce statement from his wife, Aaliya Siddiqui were all over the internet. But the lawyers of Aaliya have come forward and quoted to Zee News that Aaliya has sent a legal notice for divorce to end her married life with Nawazuddin are true. The lawyers had said in their statements, "Yes, it is to confirm that we have sent a legal notice to Mr Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The notice was sent on behalf of Mrs Aaliya Siddiqui on May 7, 2020. Due to unprecedented COVID-19 times, the notice could not be sent through speed post. It has been sent through email as well as WhatsApp. Mrs Siddiqui, our client, has also said the notice through WhatsApp. However, Mr Siddiqui has not responded till date. Aaliya Siddiqui further talked about his plans of seeking the sole custody of their children, Shaura and Yaani, and went on to add, “I want to go with the flow. I haven’t thought much about the future, but I don’t want this marriage anymore. There are no chances of reconciliation. I have raised them and I want their custody.” So far, no words have been delivered by Nawazuddin on this matter but there are chances that we will have to wait a little more because currently he’s shattered by the loss of his sister and is taking care of his mother. The actor had revealed it in his tweet and it could be read as “Due to the recent loss of my younger sister, my mother, who is 71 years old, got anxiety attack twice.
