In the glam world, some celebs like to be bold and beautiful and share tit bits of their life with their fans, and some like to keep it subtle, and private. Here’s one actress who succeeded in keeping her marriage a secret for good one and a half years! And she is none other than Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi fame actress, Narayani Shastri. Yes, the lady is married and that too for more than a year.
Narayani who was last seen in Life Ok’s Piya Rangrezz as Bhanvari Devi Singh is married to a British national named Steven Graver. Before dating and eventually marrying Steven aka Tony, Narayani was in a relationship with TV actor Anuj Saxena, who is best remembered for his roles in serials like Kumkum and Saara Akash. She was also seeing TV actor Gaurav Chopra, with whom she appeared in dance reality show, Nach Baliye.
While talking about her husband Tony to a leading publication and the reason why their marriage was kept a secret, Narayani said:
“Tony is media-shy. Honestly, both of us didn't want to get married. We actually got married because one day we were wondering 'Why don't we want to tie the knot, given that the two of us want to be together always?' It was rather strange. This thought came to us one day and we called the registrar the next day."
When asked if she was dressed as a conventional Indian bride, Narayani said:
“I was dressed in jeans and a T-shirt and had only my mother and a few close friends at the wedding. We did not want to blow it out of proportion. Tony and I needed some time to get comfortable with the idea of being married and now, we are comfortable with the thought.”
Now, speaking about her husband who has been in India for 8 years and if he misses London, Narayani said:
"He doesn't miss London and is very happy in Mumbai. He has been in India for the past eight years and he loves the people here."
Talking about how the two of them met in Mumbai, Narayani said:
“I met him much later; we have been together for only five years now. I met him through my best friend."
Talking about what Tony does, Narayani said:
“Tony loves his work — he is a creative director with a company. Basically, he is an artist and if you see his paintings, you'll be amazed. They are not like paintings, they look like photographs!"
On asked if this was a complete hush-hush affair or her friends from the industry were aware of this, the actress said:
“Very few. It's not that I would deny it if somebody asked me; I hadn't committed a crime! It's just that I wouldn't go to anyone and say, 'Hey, I got married.”
Well, we pretty much agree to this Narayani. Marriage is a very private decision and choosing to keep it subtle and under wraps (unintentionally though) is one’s sole discretion. Here’s wishing lots of happiness to Tony and Narayani in this new phase of life. For more updates on your favourite celebs, stay tuned with us.
