Paul Pelosi is an American businessman and investor. He is best known as the husband of former US House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi (maiden name Nancy D'Alesandro), whom he married in 1963. He was born on April 15, 1940, in San Francisco, California, and is 76 years old as of July 2026, making him 10 years younger than his better half, who is currently 86. Regarding his profession, he is the founder of the real estate, venture capital, and consulting firm Financial Leasing Services. He invested in companies such as Facebook, Google, Amazon, Apple, and Microsoft.
Regarding the infamous assault incident, on October 28, 2022, an intruder named David Wayne DePape broke into the Paul and Nancy's Pacific Heights residence in San Francisco. David shattered a glass door with a hammer to enter the home early in the morning while Nancy Pelosi was away in Washington, D.C. Clenching the weapon, zip ties, and duct tape, the intruder reportedly entered the bedroom demanding to see her, screaming, "Where's Nancy"? While he was making a scene, Paul somehow managed to dial 911 from his bathroom, and stayed on the line so that dispatchers could hear the intruder's voice.
But before the police arrived, Paul was already attacked by David with the hammer, and he sustained a skull fracture. He was luckily taken to the hospital at the right time, and the politically-motivated "violent assault" didn't prove fatal. After that, Nancy's then-spokesperson, Drew Hammill put out an official statement detailing the attack and stating that Paul was recovering well and his family was grateful for the timely medical assistance. The statement could be read as:
"Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi. He was taken to the hospital where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time."

Following the horrific attack on her husband, Nancy Pelosi chose to never discuss the trauma or details of the event with her spouse, Paul Pelosi. At that time, Nancy understood that there were people who violently opposed her and wanted to remove her from her position; however, she initially chose to stay in leadership out of defiance.
