The Today Show co-anchor, Savannah Guthrie and her family are currently going through a difficult phase. For the uninitiated, Savannah’s mom, the 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, has been missing since Sunday, February 1, 2026. She was last seen on January 31, 2026, at her residence near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue. Recently, the FBI has raised the reward to USD 10,000 for any information leading to Nancy's recovery. Amid the growing urgency over her health condition and whereabouts, the missing case entered its third week.
As the Nancy Guthrie abduction case entered its third week with no information about her whereabouts, Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos shared how action will be taken further. Speaking to Fox News, Chris said that in the coming days, there will be more police involvement in the community. He mentioned that the level of activity will depend on what leads they will get. He added that, following the leads, the cops will decide whether to visit the field. He was quoted as saying:
"Every day moving forward, there will be a lot of police activity throughout the community. As to what level of activity that is depends on what lead they chase and how it develops. These leads start in the command post and move to the field as needed. That is one reason you’re seeing activity build up as the day goes on that can ultimately lead to a search warrant looking for Nancy and any suspect involved."

Ever since Nancy Guthrie went missing, her family has been praying for her safe return. Recently, Savannah took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt note, praying for her mom’s safe return. In the note, she expressed gratitude to the people who stood by her and her family in this tough time. The note can be read as:
"Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. We need you."

While the investigating team is looking into various angles linked to the case, Tommaso Cioni, the elder son-in-law of Nancy, has allegedly become a prime suspect. During a press conference shared on February 9, 2026, the Pima County Sheriff was asked whether Tommaso Cioni, husband of Annie Guthrie, had any connection with Nancy’s disappearance, reported Hindustan Times. In response, he reportedly said that no one has been ruled out yet. A few days back, the FBI authorities shared the surveillance snaps featuring the potential kidnapper of Nancy. However, after they caught hold of the masked man, some investigators suspect that he might be Dominic Evans, the friend of Nancy's son-in-law, Tommaso.

According to the FBI’s official statement, the suspect seen outside Nancy Guthrie's home on the night she disappeared appeared to be "approximately 5'9" to 5'10" tall, with an average build." The masked individual was also seen carrying a black 25-litre Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack. Along with the update on the suspect’s description, the FBI raised the amount from USD 50,000 to USD 100,000. Physical evidence, including DNA samples and a glove, recovered near Nancy's home, reportedly was sent to the national crime laboratory in Quantico, Virginia.

A few days back, Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos shared a note on their X handle and revealed that the suspect tried to tamper the camera installed at Nancy Guthrie’s front door. They highlighted how the FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department have been working closely with the private sector partners to recover the surveillance snaps. An excerpt from the note can be read as:
"Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff's Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie's home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors, including the removal of recording devices.
