Mulayam Singh's Son, Prateek Yadav's Funeral, Wife, Aparna Reaches Home Hours After Husband's Death

Samajwadi Party founder, Mulayam Singh Yadav's youngest son, Prateek Yadav, died at the age of 38. His death sparks a lot of buzz as reports claim that he fell suddenly ill. After which, he was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of May 13, 2026, where he was announced dead on arrival, as per PTI. Now, his wife, Aparna Yadav, reached their home after his death.

After the sudden demise of her husband, Prateek Yadav, Aparna Yadav, who is a BJP leader and State Women's Commission Vice Chairperson, reached her home in Lucknow on May 13, 2026. Prateek Yadav's mortal remains also arrived at his home. Aparna looked devastated as she rushed from the airport to be with her family in the most difficult time of their lives.

For the unversed, Prateek Yadav was a fitness enthusiast and someone who believed in taking care of animals. His Instagram feed had been filled with raising awareness on animal cruelty and finding ways to stop it. After the sudden demise of Prateek Yadav, his step-brother, Akhilesh Yadav, expressed his disbelief. Taking to his account on X, Akhilesh called it extremely heartbreaking and wrote:

"The demise of Shri Pratik Yadav Ji is extremely heartbreaking! May God grant peace to the departed soul. Humble tribute!"

Prateek Yadav and Aparna Yadava's relationship went through the divorce storm a month before they decided to reunite

Prateek Yadav and Aparna Yadav went through a rollercoaster ride earlier this year, when, in January 2026, Prateek announced that he had decided to part ways with Aparna. He accused her of running his family. He went on to call his wife, Aparna, 'selfish' in a now-deleted post on Instagram. Not only this, he even went on to claim that Aparna had damaged his family dynamics. 

In the post, a visibly upset Prateek claimed that he wanted to end the marriage at the earliest. He further stated that his wife, Aparna, was more interested in becoming famous and influential. He even accused his wife of being unconcerned about his health, as he claimed his mental health had been suffering. However, within a few weeks, Prateek confirmed that he had decided to reconcile with his wife. 

After this divorce episode, Prateek took 360-degree turn and his Instgram feed was filled with happy photos of his wife with their two daughters. The family looked happy but no one knew that it was the last few happy months of them together as Prateek died after a sudden heart attack as per the autopsy report.

For those who don't know, Prateek Yadav and Aparna Yadav were married in 2011, after eight years of dating. Aparna soon developed an inclination towards politics, joined the BJP in 2022, and has been active in the party's political campaigns. She is the Vice-President of Uttar Pradesh State Women's Comission. As per reports, Prateek and Aparna were childhood sweethearts, and their love blossomed in class 10th. After dating each other for several years, they got married. However, Aparna had no idea back then that Prateek was a politician's son.
