'Mrs. Deshpande' Review, Madhuri Dixit Plays Serial Killer Breaks Free From Her Girl-Next-Door Image

The '90s famous heroine, Madhuri Dixit, has broken her image of the girl-next-door. At the age of 58, Madhuri is winning hearts as the grey character in the recently released web series, Mrs. Deshpande. The series, which also stars Priyanshu Chatterjee and Siddharth Chandekar, is being loved by the viewers due to its interesting storyline.

Storyline of Mrs. Deshpande

The series is directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, and Madhuri is playing the role of 'Seema Deshpande'. Interestingly, 'Seema Deshpande' was a restaurateur and had an appetite for murder. So far, in the series, she had killed eight people. 'Seema Deshpande' is in jail where she is running the prison kitchen.

However, things take a serious turn when she learns that there is someone who is copying the pattern of her murder style while she is in jail, serving out her sentence. If reports are to be believed, the show is inspired by the famous French series, La Mante. To catch the killer, Commissioner of Police 'Arun', played by Priyanshu Chatterjee, asks 'Seema Deshpande' for help. The mission to catch the murderer is led by 'Tejas', played by Siddharth Chandekar.

While 'Arun' is gentle and cooperative 'Seema Deshpande', 'Tejas' feels like it is her and she is faking the whole concern act and using the police department to escape. Let us mention that the story is set in the 1990s. The series is co-written by Nagesh Kukunoor and Rohit Banawlikar. All in all, the film is a unique take filled with masalas and intriguing turning points.

The six-episode series has a lot of twists to keep the audience on their toes. In the whole series, 'Seema Deshpande' is treated like the heroine rather than the serial killer. The show doesn't reveal much about 'Seema Deshpande' and keeps moving forward in order to catch the copy killer.
