For the unversed, Mona Singh is a married lady! She had surprised her fans by tying the knot with the man of her dreams, Shyam Rajagopalan. It was on December 27, 2019, when the actress had gotten married to Shyam in an intimate ceremony. And, it was on December 28, 2019, when Mona had shared the first picture with her 'mister' from their wedding on her Instagram handle. She had captioned it as "Love laughter and a happily ever after." The actress is living her happy life, both on professional and personal terms. She recently visited the popular show, The Kapil Sharma Show and talked about how bad was her now-husband, Shyam’s marriage proposal.
Mona Singh visited the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show in the recent episode and how can we not expect Kapil to bring out the topic of her marriage on the show. Kapil asked Mona why she had gotten married so early, to which, she replied, “Zarurat padh gayi thi.” She further shared how her hubby, Shyam helped her with the chores during the lockdown. Mona was also questioned about dating Shyam for five years, to which she narrated the story of her bad proposal.
Mona Singh revealed that she was not sure if she can go ahead and take the plunge even after dating Shyam for five years as she wasn’t sure of committing herself to marriage. Talking about her proposal, she recalled how Shyam told her that he wanted to buy a kurta and came to pick her up for shopping. While they were on the way to the shop, Shyam stopped his car in the middle of the road and took out the ring to propose her for marriage. Before Mona could respond or react, he slipped the ring into her finger because of nervousness and later, joked about how people hurled abuses on them. Calling it a super bad proposal, Mona also recalled that Shyam had forgotten to play the songs in the car and did it later.
On December 27, 2020, Mona Singh and Shyam Rajagopalan had completed one year of marital bliss and ahead of their first anniversary, the Black Widows star had posted a loved-up picture with her husband. To mark Christmas 2020, Mona had posted a twinning-in-red picture with Shyam, giving a glimpse of how she had celebrated her most favourite time of the year. In a post-wedding interview with the DNA, Mona had revealed what connected her with Shyam and the qualities she like about him. Mona had remarked, "I have known him for the last five years. I met him through a friend at a friend's birthday party and we hit it off. He is a very funny man that was a big tick for me. I like people with a good sense of humour. What I like about him is that he lets me be. He doesn't want to change a single thing about me. I can be very annoying at times, but he is very cool. I like him. He respects me; I respect him.
