But the news of her private wedding simply came like a big shock both to the industry and most of her fans. On December 27, 2019, Mona had tied the knot with Shyam in an intimate ceremony. And it was on December 28, 2019, when the gorgeous actress had shared the first picture with her 'mister' from their wedding on her Instagram handle. The actress had picked the prettiest red lehenga that complimented her personality. On the other hand, her groom had donned a beige sherwani. In an interview with BollywoodLife, when Mona Singh was asked about her surprise wedding, the actress revealed a lot of things and revealed how she doesn’t like revealing dates in media. She said, “I was never someone who liked to talk about my personal life in public. I would never do something like reveal dates in the media or discuss how I was planning my wedding.” She also revealed that all her close friends and family members were there and had a lot of fun. She added, “My family and friends knew I was dating Shyam. They were happy about it. I had lots of fun at my sangeet. My friends and family members were with me. That is all that mattered.”
Moving forward in the interview, when Mona Singh was asked about her married life in the ongoing lockdown and the bubbly actress admitted that she’s cherishing every single hour of this precious time with the family. She stated, “It has been great so far. I don't think we could ever get much time with one another. We read, cook and clean the house together. Usually, when we work, it is a 12-hour shoot, and you can do just one meal together. Plus, there is travel. In the same interview, when Mona Singh was asked about the similarities between her real character and the character of 'Ananya' in which she is going to be seen next in ALTBalaji’s famous show, Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain 3 that will be available for the fans from June 6, 2020. The actress stated that she’s a completely different person in comparison to her on-screen character because she had never built a wall around her. She explained, “I am a very positive person. And I am quite emotional. Whenever I have gone through a rough patch, I have had friends and family comforting me. I never built a wall like Ananya. Also, I feel that every relationship teaches you something. It is a part of life's experiences. You learn lessons in self-love, finding your space and so much more.”
When Mona Singh and Shyam Rajagopalan had completed one month of married life, the former had posted her wedding video that comprises of some ‘love, laughter and happily ever after’ moments. From dancing like there’s no tomorrow to laughing their hearts out, Mona and Shyam’s wedding video had glimpses of all the functions and ceremonies.
