In the festive episode before Diwali, Shahid and Mira revisited the early days of their relationship. The couple has been married since 2015. They share two children: daughter, Misha, and son, Zain.
Mira Rajput recalls her first conversation with Shahid Kapoor went on for seven hours
During the festive episode before Diwali of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Mira Rajput shared that her now-husband turned out to be good company when they crossed paths for the first time. However, an unusual request from the Jab We Met actor left her thoroughly confused. Mira mentioned that after 2-3 hours of conversation, Shahid told her to take out her phone and click photos of his shoes. Recalling the moment, Mira said:
"I thought, how weird. We were meeting for the first time, and he wanted me to take photos of his shoes. I showed him the pictures, asking what was so great about them. He said his shoes glowed in the dark. I kept wondering what was so great about it."
Shahid then explained why he kept flaunting his shoes to Mira. He shared that during their first meeting, Mira was 20 and he was 34. Thus, when they sat down together, he kept thinking whether their wavelengths would ever match. However, they didn’t realise how they spent seven hours talking to each other. The Jab We Met actor highlighted that the shoes were useful during the early days of paparazzi culture because they absorbed flash.
During his conversation with Mira, he forgot that she has no connection with films and would not understand the importance of those shoes. And thus, he kept flaunting the shoes that glowed in the dark. During the same episode, Shahid also recalled visiting Mira’s Delhi home while he was filming Udta Punjab. At the time, he had 'Tommy Singh's' green-haired look. Recalling his father-in-law’s reaction, Shahid said:
"The first time I went to Delhi to see her house, her father opened the door. I had green hair. When my father-in-law opened the door, he froze for a while, looking at me."
Shahid shared that his father-in-law is a very disciplined man, an engineer, an IITian, and an absolutely 'amazing human being'. He mentioned that when his father-in-law saw 'Tommy Singh's' green-haired look, he froze for a while and wondered if he was giving his daughter to the actor. Shahid added that he can never forget Mira’s father’s expression.
Further, in the same episode, Shahid said Mira had another shocking surprise waiting after they got married. He shared that Mira watched Udta Punjab with him in the edit room, and when the movie ended, she was very stressed seeing that character and wondered who she had married.
