New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel, and former The Athletic reporter, Dianna Russini’s photo scandal has been leading the headlines ever since the pictures were released. The whole fiasco started when pictures of Dianna and Mike from their cosy moments at a luxury resort went viral on social media. The duo was sent to spend some time alone, which raised rumours of an alleged romance between them.

Mike Vrabel talks about seeking counselling amid Dianna Russini’s photo scandal

According to the latest reports, Mike Vrabel is seeking counselling following the recent scandal. The New England Patriots head coach recently told ESPN that he will not be with the team on Day 3 of the NFL Draft. Seeking counselling as an excuse for his absence, Vrabel said:

“As I said the other day, I promised my family, this organization and this team that I was going to give them the best version of me that I can possibly give them. In order to do so, I have committed to seeking counselling, starting this weekend. This is something that I have given a lot of thought to and is something I would advise a player to do if I was counselling them.”

Mike Vrabel revealed that seeking counsel will help him in his personal life

In the same interaction, Vrabel added that he would spend the weekend outside Massachusetts with his wife, Jen, and their two sons. He also stated that seeking counselling would help him in his personal life. Elaborating on the same, the head coach added:

“I have always wanted to lead by example and I believe this is what I have to do to be the best husband, father and coach that I possibly can be.”

A few days back, Page Six shared exclusive pictures of New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and New York Times NFL reporter Dianna Russini. In the photos, the two were seen spending time together at a hotel in Arizona. The images, reportedly taken on March 28, 2026, showed Dianna and Mike holding hands and hugging on a private rooftop bungalow during the evening.

Mike Vrabel revealed having a ‘difficult conversation’ with his family after Dianna Russini's scandal

During a recently held press conference, Mike spoke to the media about the Dianna Russini scandal. The Patriots' head coach stated that he had a conversation with his team's players, as he didn’t want his personal life to hamper their game. Additionally, Mike stated that he had some ‘difficult conversations’ with the people he cares about, including his family. Going further in the conversation, Mike also revealed that he regrets being the reason behind “distraction, comments and questions.”

Amid the ongoing controversy, Page Six released new photos of Mike and Dianna on April 23, 2026. In the pictures, the couple was seen having breakfast together. Eyewitnesses told Page Six that the couple dined together on March 28, 2026. The source further mentioned that Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel didn't wish to be seen together during their stay in Arizona. They went incognito and would walk ahead of one another to avoid any controversy.
