Mike Vrabel Angrily Dialed Dianna Russini When She Allegedly Made 'Too Fat To Work' Comment On Him

Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini have been hitting the headlines constantly ever since their photos from an Arizona hotel made rounds on social media. The duo was seen conversing with each other and being cosied up as well.

Although the duo denied the claims about being romantically linked, the damage was already done. Following this, with Dianna stepping away from her position, theories being out about her husband hiring a P.I., Mike's statement and finally some more old photos hitting the headlines, this controversy isn't stopping just right away. Amid this, an old video surfaced when Dianna revealed that Mike once angrily called her, thinking that she had called him fat.

Did Dianna Russini call Mike Vrabel 'fat', which led him to angrily call her?

During her conversation on the podcast, Pardon My Take, Dianna Russini revealed that Mike Vrabel called her a day when an aggregator said to him something, which was simply a twisted take, which might have sounded like she had called the coach 'fat'. Explaining what exactly happened, Dianna Russini mentioned that she had dinner with a GM at the Senior Bowl and they had a conversation about the coaching cycle and how crazy it was that Bill Belichick and Mike Vrabel didn't have gigs.

This was during this moment, when the GM explained things to her, mentioning that Vrabel is very intimidating and he's a big human being, and it’s a bit startling at first, and thus, when he walks into a room, he just owns it, walking with confidence. Speaking about what she and the GM conversed, Dianna said:

“And I said, ‘Why do you think that Mike didn’t get a job?’” she continued. “He said, ‘I think they needed a change there in Tennessee, but in terms of the next opportunity, I think there’s a lot of people who are very intimidated by him. He walks into a room and he’s confident. He’s physically a big human being and it’s a bit startling at first.’"

Dianna went on to reveal that aggregators took the comment and stretched it out of context, mentioning something as if she called Mike fat. She also added that after this, she got a call from Mike, who was not upset about the fact that they discussed about him being fired, but rather about the fact that she called him 'fat'. She shared:

"The aggregators took that and changed all of this, the way I said that. That wasn’t great to hear from a not-too-happy coach. He didn’t call me after the piece we did on why he got fired but the piece we did calling him a little fat, he wasn’t too happy."

After the controversy, Dianna announced that she had decided to step away from her role as an NFL reporter and insider at The Athletic. She made the decision amid an investigation going on around her at her company. Speaking of Mike, he announced that his family is his priority right now, and he would be seeking counselling.

While this was up, Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel's old photo again re-ignited the buzz about them. Several photos were released from 2020, where Mike was seen kissing Dianna. Mike was sporting his wedding ring, while Dianna got married 6 months later. While Mike and Dianna are yet to comment on the same, the former NFL reporter deleted her social media account; on the other hand, Mike announced he would be missing on the third draft, due to his counselling.
