Michael, who once ruled the hearts of young girls in '90s and early 2000s, was recently spotted in a casual look, beginning a new debate about how stars leave caring for their looks post-stardom.

Michael Vartan, now 57, was caught grocery shopping in Los Angeles earlier this week. But what surprised his fans was how the actor looked completely different from his clean-cut, boyish charm that made him a fan favorite two decades ago. According to Page Six, the actor stepped out dressed in a black hoodie, Puma track pants, and an LA Kings cap. 

Furthermore, Michael Vartan looked completely laid-back, sporting glasses and a full grey beard, in a complete shift from his polished leading-man image of the '90s. The dramatic transformation left everyone stunned, with social media users calling him 'unrecognizable' and "looking like a completely different person'. Several netizens wondered how the actor looked completely different from his rom-com days.

Did Michael Vartan leave Hollywood? 

Michael Vartan rose to global fame by playing the CIA agent opposite Jennifer Garner on ABC's hit spy drama, Alias, from 2001 to 2006. The show made him a household name and strengthened his status as one of TV's most swoon-worthy leading men. But he stepped away quietly from Hollywood in recent years. He has not officially retired from acting, but he has stepped back from Hollywood to lead a more private life. Back in 2017, during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Michael admitted that Hollywood was "much harder" than he anticipated. Additionally, he shifted his focus to smaller, more selective projects and personal interests, such as outdoor activities, hiking, and photography.
