Michael Jackson, a name that still shines the brightest even after years of his death. From a young age, Michael dropped the toys and took the microphone, which changed not just his family's future but his entire life, so much so that the zeal to get back on stage in the 50s cost him his life as his body wasn't ready, and he had anxiety.
As people are re-living the glorious and deeply alone life of Michael Jackson, not many know that he married the surrogate mother of his children. Read on to know the reason behind it.

It is worth mentioning that Michael Jackson was first married to Lisa Marie Presley. The two were together for three years. Michael wanted to desperately have a child, but Lisa wasn't sure of the same. The divorce left him with a lot of insecurity and trust issues. However, at that time, when he was going through a divorce, he grew close to Debbie, who was working as an assistant to Michael Jackson's dermatologist, Arnold Klein. He was treating Michael for vitiligo in 1983.

Debbie and Michael found a connection, a friendship, and years later, Debbie revealed that Michael's biggest fears after his first divorce were that he might never have the chance to embrace fatherhood. He wanted children, but he thought it could not be possible. As a result, Debbie offered to carry his future kids.

At the time of Debbie's pregnancy with Michael's first kid, a tabloid revealed the news with the heading 'I’m Having Michael’s Baby'. Later, it was revealed that Jackson was the father of the baby, and he would be raising the kids alone. After the separation from Michael Jackson, Debbie gave up full custody of Prince and Paris to Michael. As part of the divorce settlement, she had received USD 8 million. However, she later sought to have the kids' custody back in 2004 after Michael Jackson was charged with ten counts of child abuse. After Michael Jackson's death, the custody of his three kids were given to his mother, Katherine Jackson, in Encino, California.

Debbie kept her life extremely private. Her last major public appearance came in 2013, when she gave evidence during a civil case filed by Katherine Jackson against concert promoter AEG Live following the death of her son. During her testimony, Debbie revealed that the doctors were at fault as they thought that he was in pain and they were trying to see who could give him the best painkiller. She said:
"Unfortunately, some of the doctors decided that when Michael was in pain, they would try to see who could give him the best painkiller.
Debbie was last seen in 2025, in Palmdale, California. She was dressed in blue jeans and a blue patterned shirt. She flaunted her shoulder-length blonde hair. Even after giving up the parental rights after the divorce, Debbie later built a personal relationship with her daughter, Paris Jackson, when she was 15. Paris once talked about her surrogate mother and said:
"It's cool, getting to know her, seeing how similar we are, getting into what kind of music she really likes. She really likes country and folk, so I sent her some of the stuff I'm working on. We look a lot alike. It's just cool having her as a friend. It's very chill, which I love. It's the perfect word to describe it."
