Michael Flatley revealed his wife Niamh’s reaction when he checked out beautiful women
Michael Flatley and Niamh had been married for 20 years. The Riverdance king had always been a ladies’ man, and even after marrying Niamh, he never thought twice about checking out beautiful women. But Niamh had no problem with his roving eyes. In an interview with the Irish Mirror, Flatley recalled his infamous ladies’ man reputation when he married Niamh in 2006 and said:
“I’d like to think [my roving eye has retired] but, like I said, I admire beauty in everything and women are the most beautiful things in our world.”

In the same interaction, he heaped praise on his stunning wife, Niamh, and called himself “the luckiest guy in the world” to have wed the Irish dancing beauty. The multi-millionaire gushed that Niamh had been with him through thick and thin and knew him best. Revealing how she deals with his ladies’ man reputation, Flatley said:
“She knew me. Niamh knows what it’s like being on the road; she knows how bad things get. She’s smarter than all that. She can see right through me right down to my boots. She put me in the car when I couldn’t hardly stand up, night after night. She has seen me making a fool of myself on more than a number of occasions and she still married me.”
Michael Flatley had an ‘immediate attraction’ to Niamh O'Brien when they first met
Michael fell in love with Niamh after they met for the first time in 1993. Niamh, originally from Meath, was a very talented dancer and had performed in many of his dance shows. She took the lead role of Saoirse during the Lord of the Dance shows.
According to sources, the couple reportedly had an "immediate attraction" for each other. Since he was already married to supermodel Lisa Murphy, Flatley and Niamh had to wait until his split in 2006. In the same year, Flatley and Niamh began dating and announced their engagement in August 2006. In October 2026, the couple decided to get married, tying the knot in a romantic ceremony at St. Patrick's Church in Fermoy, Co. Cork. A year later, the couple welcomed their first and only child, a son named Michael Jr., in 2007.

On their 10th anniversary, the couple renewed their vows, and Flatley told RSVP Magazine that he had special plans for their 20th anniversary. However, destiny had other plans as Niamh passed away in the same month as her 20th anniversary. He once revealed how he kept the spark in his marriage alive and said:
“Marry the right person, I’m very blessed, I’m in love with my wife, who’s in love with me.”
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Michael Flatley and his family.
