Following the intense scrutiny around the ad campaign, Megan broke her silence. In a conversation with PEOPLE, Megan Fox said that she initially expected to ask for a script with more humor and sex appeal. Instead, she found herself telling her team that they needed to tone it down. The actress shared that the original script, as shared by Ro's team, was even raunchier, and they went too far with some of the suggestive jokes.
Megan responded to the backlash surrounding the ad, saying that she loved it and even liked the original bolder script; however, she still asked them to dial it down a bit for some reason. Her comments show she had fun working on the ad campaign and was unfazed by the negativity surrounding her appearance in it.
Megan Fox even shared that she felt like she was "born for it" and that she was the perfect person for the ad. Regarding her negotiations with the Ro team about toning down the ad content and sharing her love for the project, Megan stated:
"We actually had to go back and be like, 'Maybe we could dial it down a little bit,' because they really went for it with some of the jokes and the innuendos- which I love."
Megan further defended her raunchy ad, saying she did it to spark conversation around taboo topics like ED, which can affect intimacy in couples and their relationship in the long run. According to her, rather than leaving one person to navigate the subject alone, couples should approach it together. Megan wants people to assure their partners facing such problems that, "We're on the same team," and "We want the same thing. Let's do this together."
