The excitement around NASA's Artemis rocket launch is only increasing every minute. Currently, the rocket is all set for its launch, which is scheduled to happen on April 1, 2026. According to the official site, Artemis II is the first crewed flight of NASA’s Artemis program, which is designed to find human presence on and around the moon. The crew involved Reid Wiseman, who is the commander, Victor Glover, who is the pilot, and Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen, who are the mission specialist.
Amid the buzz around the launch, some fans have grown curious to know about Victor Glover. Reportedly, he is the first Black astronaut to fly beyond low Earth orbit. In his personal life, he is married to Dionna Glover, and the couple have four daughters. While his wife and daughters have maintained a private profile, let us introduce you to Victor’s eldest daughter, Genesis Glover, who attended the same university as her parents.

According to the official site of NASA, Victor Glover and his wife, Dionna have been married for more than two decades. While there is not much information about their first meeting and marriage, it is reported that over the years, Dionna has been the biggest supporter of her husband. Reportedly, their family lived in several states, including Japan, when Victor was a fighter pilot in the U.S. Later, Victor shifted his focus to the skies.

Talking about Victor Glover’s wife, Dionna stayed at home and took care of their children, while the astronaut served as a pilot. For the unversed, Victor and Dionna have four daughters, Genesis, Maya, Joia and Corinne. According to a report by NASA, today, Dionna is also a health and fitness trainer. Dionna once spoke about her husband and shared:
"I’d think about him, and he’d call me. We had a video teleconference once a week. We’d play games, like ‘zero-g charades.’ NASA’s great at keeping us connected. It felt like he was in California. He felt so close. I’m thrilled! A two-week mission on Artemis II – that’s fantastic."

Out of all the family members of Victor Glover, Genesis seems to have the most public profile. If reports are to be believed, she studied biological science from Cal Poly University. It is worth mentioning that her parents attended the same. However, unlike Victor, who did engineering, Genesis opted for biology as she reportedly wants to become a doctor. In 2024, she was honoured with the MLK Legacy Award at the University. Reportedly, her sister, Maya is also at Cal Poly.

After being honoured with the MLK Legacy Award, Genesis had a conversation with her university fellowmates, which was later shared on the official site of Cal Poly. During the same, when she was asked about her father, Victor and how he inspired her, Genesis was quoted as saying:
"You hear the term, 'the sky's the limit' or 'shoot for the stars. And literally my dad embodies that. I know he's worked so hard, and that inspires me to work hard as well for what I want to do. But I also noticed behind the scenes, he makes time for the things that he wants. He’s a NASA astronaut, a Navy pilot, and he still makes time for friends, family the community. Both of my parents are super inspiring. My mom, Dionna is a big support to my whole family. Without my mother, the Glovers just wouldn't be the Glovers. I have gigantic shoes to fill, and I tell my dad all the time, 'I want to be bigger and better than you'."

In 2025, Genesis again had a conversation in her university, during which she fondly spoke about her father, Victor, who is currently gearing up for the Artemis II launch. While talking about Victor, Genesis shared that in her freshman year, she was once recognised by someone in her university, who walked up to her and asked, 'I’m sorry, is your last name Glover?' Further, talking about Victor’s legacy, she shared:
"I love my last name. I’m very proud of my last name. I wouldn't say there's a lot of pressure there. It definitely encourages me to be better and do better because I know what people are capable of, because I do have my parents as models."
Victor Glover is a NASA astronaut, who reportedly graduated from California Polytechnic State University in 1999, with a degree in engineering. Before becoming an astronaut, he was in the U.S. Navy as a pilot. Reportedly, he has over 3,000 flight hours in over 40 different aircraft. He was selected by NASA in 2013. He previously made headlines in 2020, during the SpaceX Crew-1 mission. The current Artemis II is the first crewed mission to travel around the Moon.
