This time, however, the rocker who was supposed to headline the Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on August 9, 2026, postponed the show just hours before showtime.
The venue took to social media to announce the cause as an "unforeseen but minor medical procedure that required prompt attention.” As fans continue to wonder if Rod is okay, here's everything we know about the singer's wife, Penny Lancaster, who will take care of him.
Who is Rod Stewart’s wife, Penny Lancaster?
According to reports, Rod Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, was born and raised in the U.K. Penny has worked as a model. In 2002, she landed a deal with the lingerie brand, Ultimo. She went on to model for the company for two years. Interestingly, Ultimo did not sign with her again at the end of the contract, and instead enlisted Rod’s ex-wife, Rachel Hunter.
Apart from modeling, Penny also made a name for herself in U.K. television. For instance, she was seen as a panelist on the British talk show, Loose Women for several years. Penny’s television appearances also include her participation in a documentary titled Famous and Fighting Crime in 2019 and on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021.
Penny also joined the cast of the popular U.K. program, Strictly Come Dancing, in 2007. At that time, she was paired with dancer Ian Waite. She made it halfway through the competition before being eliminated.
For the unversed, Penny Lancaster had joined the police force as part of the documentary, Famous and Fighting Fighting Crime, which follows celebrities going out on patrol. She enjoyed her time while filming so much that the former model decided to be a police officer for real. Penny passed the test in 2021 and has been at her job ever since. Speaking about her job with Good Morning Britain, Penny shared:
"When you think of policing, you think of the most violent crimes, but we're out there to help the most vulnerable. At this particular time, there's a lot of incidents on the bridges, and I did help someone who was very desperate on the bridge the other night. It can be rewarding in so many ways."
Penny had reportedly been on duty for Queen Elizabeth’s state funeral. She credited her training and preparation for the day going smoothly. Penny was also on duty when King Charles was crowned in May 2023. Posting an image of the royal carriage passing by her on Instagram, she wrote in the caption, "I was honoured to have been given the opportunity to serve during this very special day. A very proud moment, I’ll never forget.”
Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster’s relationship
Rod Stewart proposed to Penny Lancaster on March 9, 2005. He got down on one knee at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Recalling the experience during an interview, Penny shared:
"I opened the box, and he had bought me the most amazing princess-cut diamond engagement ring. It was classic and striking. I was stunned, threw my arms around him, and burst into tears."
Two years after this, Penny and Rod tied the knot in Italy. They kept the wedding ceremony private and exchanged vows in the presence of 100 family and friends. It is worth mentioning that the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Alastair, in 2005, before their marriage. They welcomed another son in 2011, whom they named Aiden.
As their relationship continues to grow strong, Rod Stewart claimed that “intimacy” is the key to their long-lasting marriage. He said that intimacy is not something to be taken for granted while adding:
"I'm not talking about sex, but a kiss and a cuddle and a hold. Penny and I do that every morning. We hug each other - sometimes in bed, sometimes out of bed, all throughout the day. It's a wonderful relationship. Lucky geezer, aren't I?"
