Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi is a prominent Indian politician who took office as the Education Minister of India on July 25, 2026. He was born to a humble family on November 27, 1962, in Vijayapura (formerly Bijapur), Karnataka and is currently 63. Pralhad keeps his personal life away from the spotlight despite holding a high-profile position in the Union Cabinet. He keeps his personal life focused on his professional endeavours and thus, very little is known about his private life.
Pralhad Joshi is a married man, and his life as a husband and a father is a lesser-known but essential part of him. According to his official website, he is married to Smt. Jyoti Joshi, and the couple tied the knot on November 26, 1992. They have been married for 34 years and have kept their private life away from the spotlight. Specific details of their relationship timeline are not publicly known. As per reports, Jyoti is engaged in private service and business operations and holds a significant share of the family's joint movable assets.

Pralhad and Jyoti are proud parents of three daughters. Their eldest child, Arpita Joshi, is married to K.S. Hrushikesh. He completed his schooling at a Railway School and New English School in Hubli before graduating from Shri Kadasiddheshwar Arts College. Beyond politics, Pralhad Joshi is known to enjoy certain hobbies. He is an avid reader and has a deep interest in Hindustani classical music. He also reportedly enjoys playing chess, carrom, and badminton.

As for Pralhad's career, he started as an industrialist and long-time worker for the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He achieved his first big political feat when he emerged victorious in the 2004 Lok Sabha elections. He won the Dharwad constituency and held the seat continuously for five consecutive terms till 2024. Before his official political career, he was a student leader, acting as the President of the Jabalpur University Students' Union in 1980.
Pralhad Joshi then stepped into the party's youth wing, serving as the District President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in 1982. He successfully entered mainstream national politics during the 1989 general elections, where he was elected to the 9th Lok Sabha from the Seoni constituency in Madhya Pradesh. By assuming the role, he became one of the youngest Members of Parliament at the time.
