Renee Olstead’s ex-husband, Tommy King, is a musician and pianist. He beautifully combines Jazz, R&B, Rock and Soul to create his own musical style. When Tommy was in high school, he reportedly discovered his talent for playing the piano and keyboard. During his time with LA Multi-School Jazz Band, Tommy got opportunities to meet and learn from famous musicians, including Herbie Hancock and Horace Silver.
Before finishing high school, Tommy had already performed at Jazz festivals and famous Hollywood clubs, including the House of Blues and the Roxy. It was Grammy-winning producer David Foster who noticed Tommy's talent and charisma and brought him in to work with Renee Olstead, including featuring in her music videos. After 2020, Tommy moved away from touring as a keyboardist to focus full-time on songwriting and music production.

Renee Olstead and Tommy King began dating in 2004. They dated for nine years before getting engaged in May 2013. After one year, in 2014, Renee and Tommy got married. The couple co-wrote the song, She's Got Your Name. In a 2011 radio interview with Variety Radio Online, Renee shared a rare glimpse into her love story with then-boyfriend, Tommy:
"The other day Tommy and I went on a cute little date. We’ve been together for like three years now, almost, but we still have date night. We went to color me mine, or some sort of painting place... I looked like Jackson Pollock threw up on me!"
Later, in a 2012 interview with Teen Vogue, Renee shared that she met Tommy when she signed to Warner Brothers. The OnlyFans model revealed that she co-wrote her first single, She's Got Your Name with her then-boyfriend, Tommy. In her words:
"My first single, 'She's Got Your Name,' just came out. I wrote it with my boyfriend, who I met when I signed to Warner Brothers, and he's now my musical director. I love the Amy Winehouse sixties girl group sound - and The Ronettes and The Crystals, so that's what we've been working on. It's supposed to come out in the middle of December."
Renee revealed what inspired her to co-write She's Got Your Name. In response, she said that Tommy had already composed the music. Explaining it further, Renee shared:
"My boyfriend had written some music, and he said I should write lyrics to it. This was the first song that we wrote together. I was driving in my car, and I was listening to the radio, and there was this interview about a woman who only dates married men. I realized I'd never heard song lyrics from this perspective of being in love with someone who's taken. I pulled the car over. All of the good songs come out in five minutes, and I wrote it on my iPhone."
