She replied that they had interacted only for legal purposes when he reminded her of their divorce settlement statements. She further revealed that she never read those papers as she didn't care about anything related to him after a messy divorce settlement. Slamming him and calling him a "jerk", Martha said:
"Only legally, to remind me of divorce settlement statements, which I had never read. I mean, who cared after two years of arguing about a settlement? I still haven't read it... He's a jerk."

Martha Stewart and Andy Stewart were married for 29 years before separating in 1987. Their bitter divorce was officially finalized in 1990 after tons of arguments regarding the settlement. The duo met on a blind date while she was a 19-year-old student at Barnard College and he was studying at Yale Law School. After years of dating, they walked down the aisle in 1961, and after about five years, welcomed their only child, a daughter named Alexis Stewart in 1965.
Martha and Andy's happy married life was wrecked by his alleged affairs. She accused him of carrying out multiple extramarital affairs, including one with her former assistant, Robyn Fairclough. Years after their split, in her 2024 documentary, Martha admitted to kissing a handsome stranger in Florence during her honeymoon with Andy. She also revealed that she engaged in a brief affair with an Irish man while working as a stockbroker.
Martha and Andy's infidelities naturally created distance between them and served as one of the prime reasons for their split.
