Who is Macklemore's wife, Tricia Davis?
According to reports online, Macklemore met his now-wife, Tricia Davis, on the social networking site MySpace back in 2006. As they took their relationship out into real life, the duo’s bond soon turned romantic, and they began dating.
Tricia’s family was concerned about the rapper’s struggle with his addictions; however, she still went ahead with their relationship. At that time, Macklemore claimed that he had to enter rehab for OxyContin abuse. And while he relapsed multiple times throughout the relationship, Tricia continued to stand firmly by his side. She once told ABC News:
“When you fall in love with a drug addict, totally can't-afford-anything guy, and your mom is asking you what the heck you're doing, I mean, there is a reason why you're — I knew from the first time I saw him perform I was like, ‘He has that potential.’”
In her professional life, Tricia was a former nurse. Her career seems to have taken a turn in recent years as she can often be seen working as Macklemore’s video producer, stylist, and tour manager.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014, Macklemore credited his wife for her enduring support, especially when his career was just taking off. He said:
“My fiancée was with me when we were printing out 20 T-shirts at a time at a show with 15 people there…She’s been with us every step of the way. She produces the music videos and is our tour manager. She’s been there since the beginning.”
Tricia Davis and Macklemore dated for nearly seven years before the couple got engaged in 2013. At that time, the Thrift Shop rapper shared the happy news on Instagram. Alongside an image of the engagement ring, he wrote, “After 7 years…I asked. And she said yes. The love of my life.”
The couple tied the knot two years later on June 27, 2015. Following this, Tricia and Macklemore welcomed three children together: daughters, Sloane and Colette, and son, Hugo.
Macklemore often celebrates his wife on social media
Macklemore is not someone who shies away from showing his wife love on social media. For instance, in 2020, he penned a sweet tribute for Tricia Davis on the occasion of Mother's Day. Taking to IG, he wrote about how he always knew that Tricia would be the best mother. However, he admitted that he did not expect her to exceed all his expectations when they truly embraced parenthood for the first time.
Macklemore went on to gush about how much he loves his wife in the same post. Commending her selflessness and ability to show up for others, he wrote:
“I love who you are. I love your boundless creativity and limitless imagination with our children. I admire your selflessness and ability to constantly show up for others. You have passed down humor, compassion, grit, empathy and the spirit of wonder.”
